Georgia Moving To IMPEACH Their Attorney General For NOT Signing On To HCR Repeal Suit!
It'll probably fail, but still - what fuckers.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/25/georgia-attorney-general_n_512970.html

"Georgia lawmakers reacted to Wednesday's news that their Attorney General, Democrat Thurbert Baker, would not sign on to a multi-state lawsuit to block the health care bill in his state by filing papers to have him impeached.

The blog Peach Pundit reports that the resolution to impeach Baker, also a candidate for Georgia governor, now has at least 30 signatures and is still going forward.

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, a Republican, petitioned Baker to sign on to the joint lawsuit filed by more than a dozen attorneys general across the country earlier this week that seeks to shield states from the effects of the new health bill, including the so-called "individual mandate," which forces most people to buy insurance.

...

Though the impeachment process appears to be in motion, some see it as a futile distraction that will not succeed because the threshold for impeachment is so high. It requires a vote of one-half of the State House and two-thirds of the State Senate."

3. What can I do as a Ga. resident to stop this foolishness?
He said yesterday that he wouldn't persue the suit because he found no valid legal ground to do so. I've already decided I am going to vote for Baker for Governor, but other than calling my state officials, what else can I do?

6. Damn...we really are in a civil war.
Seriously.

Not necessarily a North/South Civil war, but a Regan/Gingrich/Norquist seeded war.

States rights/ 10th Amendment/Abortion/Church values versus.....everyone else, I guess.

Republicans trying to shut down Congressional hearings and blocking the legislative process,
forcing people into "either/or" narrowly defined camps, using Tea Party morans for
threats of violence.
This is no longer a fringe and laughable activity.
Rove has been working for years to make all Republican statehouses.
He is succeeding.

8. AG Baker knows the law
our dim witted governor does not.Instead of trying to help our schools and crumbling infrastructure, the governor and his minions want to impeach our Attorney general for not doing their bidding.
