The Cantor story reminds me of a story that Molly Ivins used to tell about a TX state legislator
who paid his cousin to shoot him in the arm so he could blame The communists in his upcoming re-election campaign. After the incident was carried out the truth came out. The state legislature then passed a bill outlawing such a practice.

So, Molly said, don't think you can come down here to Texas and pay to have somebody shoot you...

I'm still laughing just thinking about it...

Richmond Police Investigate Cantor Building Vandalism
The Richmond Police Department is investigating an act of vandalism at the Reagan Building, 25 E. Main St., Richmond, Virginia. A first floor window was struck by a bullet at approximately 1 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23. The building, which has several tenants including an office used by Congressman Eric Cantor, was unoccupied at the time.

A Richmond Police detective was assigned to the case. A preliminary investigation shows that a bullet was fired into the air and struck the window in a downward direction, landing on the floor about a foot from the window. The round struck with enough force to break the windowpane but did not penetrate the window blinds. There was no other damage to the room, which is used occasionally for meetings by the congressman.

The Richmond Police Department is sharing information about the incident with appropriate law enforcement agencies.

At this time there are no suspects.

4. So the bullet came from a random shot in the air?
and it had so little force that it couldn't break the blinds?

and Cantor or his staff waited 3 days to report it?

5. Looks like it.
What I think happened is that initially they thought it was a random bullet, but then with the puke threats decided to use it politically.

8. While condeming Democrats for using these threats "politically".
If you want to know what a Republican is doing, just look at what they accuse Democrats of.

There's a Republican for you.

They even want money to shoot family.

11. Having been born and raised in Texas (before I departed for good)
I am not surprised by this story. Esp. when it has to do with anybody in the TX legislature...I still have my "Killer Bees" tee shirt from back in the 70s...
