If you doubt Ratigan is devoted to pushing a "conservative" agenda
Dylan Ratigan (MSNBC) is often applauded here as being a great voice of the people. I've pointed out several times that he is just trying to harness populist anger against failed Republican policies in order to redirect it against the Democrats.

Today he interviewed the idiot Breitbart and in the beginning of the show, Ratigan made clear exactly what he stands for. He was so focused on distancing himself from the anger he has helped stoke that he forgot to hide his larger objectives.

Quote "Let's presume that the left is falsely trying to characterize the Tea Party as a bunch of racists even though they actually are not, even though they actually are in favor of true conservative government and actual restoration - which I am in favor of - and a lot of what I see on your (Breitbart's) website I agree with quite honestly. When it comes to banks, healthcare, special interests, on down the line.

If anyone has a clip of today's show from about 6-8 minutes, it would be great if you could post it.

1. I thought he was an ass from the first minute

Glad to see my "ass-o-meter" is back in working condition.

It didn't do so well with John Edwards.

8. I had you covered with Edwards.
It wasn't that I thought he was an ass though. But, how he portrayed himself didn't feel honest.

2. My take on it was that he was "playing" Breitbart
and trying to get him (Breitbart) to make statements he would regret later

3. Well I'm glad DU has finally caught a glimpse of his true colors
I saw Ratigan when he first joined MSNBC... he changed his tune several times until he found the right niche to get the most ratings. Everything about him is fake and his delivery (talking extremely fast like a teenager) is annoying.

5. I saw that.
I don't usually watch him, but the TV was on MSNBC from last night. I have a feeling that there's going to be some fallout from this... Right now he has Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), who's one of the good guys, but that doesn't cancel out the beginning of the show. I'll look for the clip, but I'm sure I won't be the only one... x(

10. K&R #8. Yesterday he totally let Teabagger Dale ROBERTSON skate
I thought he was just unprepared because I have never monitored him the way I have LIMBOsevic, Tweety, and G.E.RUSSERT, and I had seen some positive things posted here.

First, RATTIGAN set up the strawman, saying that there were reports of spitting and epithets by Teabaggers WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS. The 'bagger said that IF such things happened... and RATTIGAN said, "When you say IF they happened, we have video. Play the video. Do we have the video?" So then a clip was played and the 'bagger said those were not from the past couple of days, and RATTIGAN said oh-noes they aren't, "so we don't have video, O.K." And the 'bagger skated away with his spin.

So I just thought he was unprepared. I guess not. I'm posting this in all the RATTIGAN-BREITBART threads up right now.

11. During that same discussion he said the republicans not speaking out
about how the Democrats had ... can't remember how he always puts it, something about how they did bill as complete corporate giveaway as they always do and the republicans not speaking out made it look like they were corporationists too.

Made it look like? They might be as bad as Dems?
I admit there were too many concessions that were corporate friendly that we had to do because too many of our Dems are too corporate friendly.
But come on...pretty much all of the people in congress who put the good of people first are Dems. He knows that
And does he really think the insurance company loves the limits on the minimum 'medical loss ratio' (what a strange name for them to call premium money they have to soend on medical care. That is what premiums are for), accept everyone, not charge more for people with conditions, not being able to end policy, not having caps on what they have to pay but people having a cap on what they have to pay in a year etc
The protections are not corporate give aways

I watched him for some time but he started driving me nuts. He is right about influence of money on Congress and finance reform but his presentation of it gets more than annoying. He doesn't offer suggestions to change things except throw the bums out. Once he played a tiny bit of a pro-reform ad on bank regulations (I think from Move-On) and then ridiculed it because that couldn't change anything.

I have trouble articulating what my issue is with him but I just had to quit watching. I heard start of today because I was doing a chore in other room and couldn't get to TV. Ugh. He makes teasters sound like solution and like he can't wait to sign up.
He let the guy just do a tea party ad about bad, bad liberals.

12. There is a legitimate anger at Reaganism
He is trying to turn that anger on the Dems. He and Scarborough started going down this road in Sept/Oct 08 when it became clear that the Republicans were toast.

Both of them are snake in the grass slime.
