IBM to set world's largest development center in western China
IBM will officially announce today the establishment of its fourth major business area at western China-IBM Software Group in the Greater China region. The business area will include Shannxi, Gansu, Ningxia and other provinces and autonomous regions.

And the company will set up IBM China Development Center, IBM Global Analysis Software Lab and IBM Regional Software Development Center.

The IBM China Development Center will become world's largest development center, said Steve Mills, senior vice president and group executive, IBM Software.

Since August, 2003, when Intel Corporation, one of the world's top 500 companies,announced the establishment of the plant in Chengdu, capital of western China's Sichuan province, a total of 139 businesses listed in the world's top 500 companies have invested in western China.
