We all make snap judgments about people. We may be aware of it and consciously try |

to extend the benefit of the doubt to someone to whom we've had an immediate and visceral reaction. We may be oblivious to our rush to judgment.
I had such a reaction to Eric Cantor. I couldn't have really explained it. Of course I disagreed with his politics, but my reaction went beyond that. He impressed me from the get-go as a weak individual who managed to play with the big boys only by staying in a crowd of those who agreed with him and occasionally stepping out to whine loudly about some perceived slight before rushing back into the safety of the scrum.
An empty suit without brains, backbone or integrity would have summed up my take on Eric.
Boy, did I peg this asshat or what?
