My Brother is back from his tour in Afghanistan/Iraq
Safe and sound.
We had an opportunity to have some long discussions about this.
Some things he wouldn't talk about, some he was very open about.
The thing that pisses me off is that the ONLY outside media influence they had was Fox News, CNN, and ESPN.
WHY are these terrorists allowed to influence our troops?

Our nephew is headed for Afghanistan if he's not there already - he'll be there with his fellow Marines for seven months.

Fingers crossed...

10. So happy for Your Family!
Best wishes for Your Brother, You, & ALL involved.
He may want to talk more about "some things", once the HOMEcoming glow fades & 'routine' sets in..just LOVE on him & be a "safe place", for him..which I know YOU will.
Please let me know if HE,or Your Family, need any reSources,or anything, in future.

And YES! It IS a huge bad deal that they get the "news" filtered thru THOSE outlets;I KNOW Pres.Obama KNOWS this. I REALLY wish he'd get those cheenee-bush-left-behinders OUT of ALL departments..THEY do not serve the Pres, US, or OUR Military WELL.

Bring 'em ALL HOME,NOW..Meanwhile, Celebrate YOURS!:woohoo:

As to the media/propaganda the troops are exposed to.... well, the powers that be can't have them getting anything but the script to think about.

Yeah, we need to get the wingers off media for the troops.

28. Not sure how AFN works
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 09:20 PM by JonLP24
but we were able to get football games on FOX and CBS while I was over there. However CNN/Fox/ESPN were the usual channels but I never understood how an NFL game would air as well as various movies.

Good news btw! :pals: Oh :kick: & rec.

30. I'm glad you
brother is back safe from Afghanistan/Iraq. My son came back a couple of months ago. One of my co-workers has a daughter there right now. Tragically, a friend of mine lost her husband in Iraq. He left behind a wife, a step-daughter he had wanted to adopt and a son he never got to meet.

Enjoy the precious moments you have with your brother, you and I are both very lucky because our soldiers came home alive and well. I understand what you are saying and I'm not trying to make light of it, I just want to make sure that I express to you how thankful I am that we didn't lose one more soldier to this war.

32. never hurts to ask other service members
about those things that your brother didn't want to talk to you about. Now there are some things by law we are not supposed to discuss I don't know if that's why he declined those things that were asked of him but I don't know the questions.

Other things I gladly talk to strangers about while not telling my family as I don't want them to worry more than they already do.
