4. Because to many of us, it's a ridiculous waste of time

There is no way he can be convicted in the Senate, and to halt all of the important business of the legislature to go on a fruitless vendetta is ridiculous.

Time is much better spent calling them to account for the scurrilous lies that got us into a cynical war of greed and aggression, the abuses of their domestic machinations and a host of other issues. Still, justifiable as all of these dwellings on the past are, time is best spent ramming through legislation that will get rid of the hideous greedfest that's driving the world to ruin.

Practicality isn't sniveling cowardice, it's an understanding of what can be accomplished. Let's take gun control as an example: I hate handguns and long for the abolition of the damned things, but to take on that struggle right now would be ruinous; it'd split off many voters who otherwise believe in decency and plurality. Don't let the momentary correction of the '06 election fool you: the assholes are at the gates and they've consolidated their power quite well.
