Am I nuts or do the Feds investigate threats/attacks on major Cong. leaders? |

I ask because the House Minority Whip claims his campaign office has been attacked ... with a firearm no less.
And the local VA cops handled this.
The ones Eric called.
No FBI. No anti-terrorism folks. NOBODY that's a fed.
There are a couple of terrific threads here in GD right now that explore a lot of the facets of Eric's Big Adventure.
I'm wondering how the local cops waved off the feds.
Around here, the Feds simply TAKE OVER situations. Locals are usually left guarding perimeters.
So, how in the hell is this going on WITHOUT the feds?

1. I heard somjewhere that Eric said this happened sometime |
|
in the last sever days. That statement was questioned because logic is that if it was really a threat, Eric & the media would have been all over this story immediately...not several days ago. My guessd is that it was a stray bullet from very far from his office. It was found, reported to the local cops and dismissed. No reason to involve the FBI.

2. Two possible explainations: Cantor is so dumb he doesn't know |
|
OR
Cantor is not as dumb as he looks and THOUGHT the locals wouldn't figure out that the trajectory of the bullet shows he just got random proof that gravity works, and decided to run with it.
