New Poll Shows Bill Halter Gaining Momentum on Senator Lincoln

Dear Supporter,

A new poll by DailyKos/Research 2000 in Arkansas shows Bill Halter is gaining momentum on two-term incumbent Senator Lincoln. Read more: http://billhalter.com/2010/3/25/new-poll-shows-halter-gaining-momentum-lincoln-losing-ground-in-arkansas

Here are some highlights: Lincoln's favorability is only 42%, she is viewed unfavorably by 52% of voters. Halter's favorability rating is 20% above his unfavorability, and his favorability rating is higher than hers in every demographic group.

Halter shows much greater strength among independents in the general election than Lincoln.

Halter and Lincoln are even among African-Americans in the primary.

In general election match-ups Halter performs better than Lincoln against the Republican field.

This is big news! We are the underdogs in this race, running against a sitting United States Senator. That we are this close with more than a month to go, means this race is very winnable.

Arkansas is ready to send someone to Washington who wants to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. That's why I agreed to run Bill Halter's campaign.

Thank you for your support so far, and stay tuned for more news from us as we continue our work across Arkansas.

With thanks,
Carol Butler
Campaign Manager
Bill Halter for U.S. Senate

4. Go Halter!!!
Nothing would make me happier than to see Halter become the Senator from AR. With Dems like Lincoln, who needs Republicans?

7. If the polls reflect accurate numbers then Halter will win

High Negatives always lose. Everything else is irrelevent.

It is much much easier to create a positive out of 'don't know' than to change a negative to a positive.

This was proven yet again with Senator Clinton's campaign. She entered the campaign with high positives but also high negatives. In the end the campaign changed very few negatives.

You can almost always predict the outcome of the campaign simply by looking at the negatives at the begining.

We need to replace a Republican-lite candidate with a real Democrat.
