Most North Carolinians say Reagan doesn't need to go on $50 bill

An overwhelming majority of state voters oppose a push by U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry to put Republican President Ronald Reagan on the $50 bill, according to a new poll.

The poll by Public Policy Polling found that 67 percent of voters opposed replacing President Ulysses S. Grant with Reagan while 16 percent supported the idea.

"There's not a single demographic group we track that supports the change," PPP's Tom Jensen reports on his blog.

The poll of 878 North Carolina voters was conducted March 12-15 and had a margin of error of 3.3 percent.
