Right-wing racial codes...
When conservatives say that affirmative action for minorities shows liberals' disconnect with hard working Americans isn't that a sugar coated way of saying only white people are hard working Americans?

They use the same tactic on health care reform by inserting illegal immigration into the debate.

All of their arguments revolve around white fear of minorities.

1. Every right-wing jerk I've run into assumes
all liberals are living on welfare and are lazy. Don't know if they also think all liberals are minorities or not.

They simply can not conceive that a liberal might be hardworking and be willing to give up part of their money from a sense of right and wrong.

Right-wingers think every single person on earth is exactly like them - selfish. They can not fathom that some people have morals.

2. "We want our country back!"
What they really mean is "We want white people in charge".

3. They can't make up their minds
either "those people" are taking all of the jobs, or they want to just live on welfare--which is it?

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. :(

4. I think the OP is spot on here.
RW radio is particularly adept at the use of this language. The gender-based slurs and the homophobic codes are also in great abundance there.

6. took me a while to **get it**
When they're so uptight about healthcare they mean "them" getting something for free
only white people work
I shall explain this to my black co-workers, the poor dears are clearly confused.

7. For some people that may be true. For others, the concern is exactly the opposite:
the fact that it's not getting something for "free" but a mandate to "buy" for people who can barely afford it.
