Poll: Anti-socialist Tea Party activists want government to create jobs
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 02:05 PM by apples and oranges
Tea Party sympathizers are against government "socialism" except when it comes to their own jobs, a new poll has found.

Seventy percent of those who identify as Tea Partiers -- a platform that strongly decries government intervention in public life -- want an interventionist government to create jobs, and only about one in three believe Medicaid and Medicare are "socialist" programs, according to a new Bloomberg poll.

"Tea Party activists, who are becoming a force in U.S. politics, want the federal government out of their lives except when it comes to creating jobs," the wire notes wryly.

"More than 90 percent of Tea Party backers interviewed in a new Bloomberg National Poll say the U.S. is verging more toward socialism than capitalism, the federal government is trying to control too many aspects of private life and more decisions should be made at the state level," it adds. "At the same time, 70 percent of those who sympathize with the Tea Party, which organized protests this week against President Barack Obama’s health-care overhaul, want a federal government that fosters job creation."

_______

What a confused, miserable group of people. A simple way to destroy the Teabagger movement? Beef up Social Studies/Government curriculum in schools.

2. If The Tea Partyers are against Socialism...
Then they shouldn't look to the Federal Government to create jobs.

They should be creating their own jobs. :wow:

are either a) employed by or married to an employee of a government agency or a government contractor or b) the recipient of SSI disability benefits.

Credibility = zilch

9. Especially when Repug leaders are egging them on ....

I spoke to someone in Bonier's office today re the unemployment HOLD by Coburn.

Made very polite statements and he was very agitated that I would mention that

Bush's wars and tax cuts were unfunded.

Imagine if I had approached it the way the T-baggers do?

Eventually, he was so impatient and agitated that I mentioned to him that right

wing/Repug rhetoric was out of hand and had to be tamped down.

By then he was hanging up!

So -- they can give it -- but highly sensitive on the taking end!

6. "fosters job creation" = tax cuts and deregulation
The stimulus that kept tens of thousands of teachers employed, created jobs in road construction and home winterizing, didn't count as job creation to them.

7. Proof positive the dim bulbs couldn't give you the definition of socialism
if a million dollar prize was riding on the answer. They're parrots for Rush, Beck and Faux News. Make that mouthpieces. Parrots are too smart to be compared to teabaggers.
