Fox News abandons Cantor's fantasy
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 07:22 PM by autorank
When you're a high level conservative shill like Cantor and even Fox News won't stand behind
your lies, you know that you're in deep trouble:

Bullet That Struck Cantor's Office Appears to Have Been Randomly Fired...Police said

March 26

A bullet that hit a window in Republican U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor's office building appears to have been fired randomly into the air, police said Thursday.

Cantor announced at a Capitol Hill news conference Thursday that a shot had been fired into his Richmond campaign office. SNIP

"A bullet was shot through the window of my campaign office in Richmond this week, and I've received threatening e-mails," Cantor said. He refused to release details, however, saying it would only encourage more threats, and refused to take questions.

Later Thursday, however, Richmond police said in a news release that the bullet had been fired into the air around 1 a.m. Tuesday. It finished its arc back to earth at a sharp downward trajectory, breaking a window pane on the bottom floor of the two-story brick building where Cantor's campaign leases the top floor.

And comments by posters on the thread:
California

ironpol2, do your own homework. The police report is available online, as are press releases from their department. The bullet was fired randomly. The evidence is clear. The office is on the top floor. The bullet struck at a virtually vertical DOWNARD angle, with barely enough force to break the window. For the mentally challenged, that means it fell out of the sky. That office is not in Cantor's district, is not his primary office. He's making hay of nothingness, in typical GOP fashion.

Clearly Cantor did precisely what he accuses the Dems of doing -- making an irrelevant accident into a threatened attack to be translated into political spin so as to somehow deflect attention away from the verifiable attacks by Tea Party members. As a Republican, I am ashamed of this so-called leader. He must resign.

8. Eric Cantor "very happy" gunfire proved random
The congressman "was very happy to find out that police attributed this particular incident to random gunfire," Murray said. Now "we need to move on."

3. It was the Magic Bullet theory
the bullet traveled up 6,000 feet into the air, came down hit a tree branch, bounced, hit a side of a building bounced off, and hit the window landing softly onto the floor, just as the shooter attended it to do!

5. "I'm just f*#king with you Eric;)"
Yep, just because it had a trajectory deemed impossible by the laws of physics, there is no
reason to conclude that this is one paranoid dude. The proof of the plot is seen in the totally
unrealistic description and lack of acceptance. It is so good, it looks fake. Eric, we hardly
knew ye!

7. Read some of the comments...
Even after reading the article, some are insisting Cantor was a target. Not his floor, not his office, downward trajectory of bullet, wasn't even in the building, yet he was a victim.

These clowns deserve Palin as their spokesperson.

9. Oh ye of little faith
Whenever I see people posting about a piece of braking news saying 'Why won't the M$M report the TRUTH!!!!!One!!', I just smile and think 'wait about 48 hours...'. conventional media simply does not move as fast as the blogs unless it is a story that can easily unfold on camera.

Oh sure, a lot of stories receive poor or no coverage. But unless the story is something really obvious that works visually, it takes time to percolate as it develops. News on the internet is almost always a day or longer ahead of the traditional media.

22. rove got his start with phony bullets into storefronts
in rove's early career. cantor remembers history and figures if it worked for rove and his henchassholes, a bullet would work for him. serendipitous rounds don't work as well as a well-aimed slug fired by a dud.

26. Cantor Jumped the Gun..

"Cantor Spokesman Defends Bullet Claim At “Threat” Presser"

<snip>

In the wake of the cops’ statement, Critics have hammered Cantor over his claim yesterday: “Just recently, I have been directly threatened. A bullet was shot through the window of my campaign office in Richmond this week and I’ve received threatening emails.”

But Dayspring says Cantor didn’t know at the time of the presser what the police subsequently revealed. He says that before the presser, Cantor aides called the police to learn what was known.

“We didn’t want to catch them by surprise, we wanted an update on the investigation, and we wanted to be 100 percent accurate**,” Dayspring says, adding that the trajectory of the bullet was not discussed: “What was known at the time was that a bullet had been fired through the window and that the investigation was ongoing.”

No, cantor's never wanted to be 100% accurate in his political career..he musta thought the corporatemediawhores would cover..and they did for awhile. Prolly still some who are spouting on old information.

So he can come out now with his mea culpa..yeah right.

"I've been doing Oxy with Rush so long, I've lost my grip," the somber Cantor said before a near
empty press gallery. "This has been a sobering experience and I've decided to devote my life to
the search for world peace."
