Tea Party Leader Who Claimed No Slurs at Tea Party Events, Forgets his Own N-Word Sign.
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 08:28 PM by MadBadger
Dale Robertson, self-proclaimed founder of the Tea Party movement, was quoted in today’s Washington Times denying he had ever “seen any racial slurs” at Tea Party events. He was responding to the furor over nasty, sometimes violent reactions to the passage of health care reform.

There’s just one problem with Robertson’s claim: He was famously photographed at a Feb. 27, 2009 Tea Party event holding a sign that featured the n-word. (via FreakOutNation)

2. He's calling himself that.
No excuse. For using the slur.

Interesting though that these numbskulls understand that they are working on the corporate plantation.

4. Not to defend any of these jerks, but he clearly WASN'T using the "n" word as a racial slur
on his sign. Sorry, but this is a really lame attempt at a "gotcha".

If we don't adhere to a strict standard of intellectual honesty, our arguments are worthless.

5. Um, he was using the N-word to replace Slave. How exactly is that not a racial slur?

7. Oh FFS. He's using it to characterize HIMSELF. He can refer to himself any way he wants.
There's a world of difference between proclaiming that one's own status is that of a "niggar" (sic) and using the word as an angry epithet against someone else.

I'm surprised and I don't understand your defense of this sign.

17. I'm not defending the sign, I'm saying that the OP's argument is weak
since this guy's use of the "'n' word" was not directed at someone else.

Yes, "nigger" (or "niggar") is an ugly word, but the intention behind its usage is relevant. Was John Lennon a racist because he wrote the song "Woman is the Nigger of the World"?

There's a distinct difference between saying "Fuck you!", and "I've been fucked!" This guy's sign is saying "I've been fucked", it's not saying "Fuck you".

12. it's a racial slur- no matter
whether you 'say' it about yourself or anyone else---you say it---you 'own' it.

plus he's an idiot for putting it on a sign and then denying he saw it...did someone else make his sign? was he 'forced' to carry it?

lordy!

14. Really?
Are you really going to defend the intentions of this asshole with this sign? Do you really believe that this man used that word in that sign to protest this president and it is just a high brow, intellectual demonstration of his frustration?

That is just nonsense and you should be ashamed of yourself for attempting to mitigate his intent.

20. No your line of reasoning is strange
Saying that he is being treated like a n!@@#r is still racial.

taxpayer = slave is not the same statement as taxpayer = n!@@#r

What if someone said "this is a new holocaust but this time we are the Jews"? Compare that to "this is a new holocaust but this time we are the kikes". Not the same statements at all.

13. If I, as a white man, call myself the "N-word", it would
still be seen as a racial slur by most African-Americans, I would imagine!

16. Of course he lied - like Cantor, he knows that the Corporate M$M will never call him on it
So what if a handful of lib'ruls knows he lied?

99.999% of Americans won't.

Thus endeth the lesson in the Bushiganda of the Bushie Klan and Corporate Media

Control, for today.

18. There's only one plausible explanation here:
Another protester gave him that sign, and he can't read.
