FUCK RONALD REAGAN
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 10:52 PM by hatesthegop
My earlier post got deleted so I'll sanitize this one...Ronald Reagan was a worthless piece of shit! Not only did he try his best to wreck the government, he made mean spiritedness an admired political trait. Instead of what can I do for my country..it became what can my country do for me? He was a nasty self absorbed asshole and that prune face wife of his was a nut case as well, consulting astrologers about what to do concerning the nation's problems and then having Ronnie act upon their findings. To make matters worse Ronald and his muddled brain didn't have the courtesy to fade away gracefully-he saddled the taxpayers with another 15 and half years of paying for his security and diaper changes. I can't believe how anybody can even look up to him, yet alone put his fucking face on currency or chisel that asshole's mug on a mountain side. Every time I see that God damn GE commerical running right now, it drives me straight up the friggin wall.

I totally agree. History in the long run will regard Ronnie Ray-Gun as one of the worst presidents in American history. He ushered in an era of unprecedented greed and selfishness and hammered our economy with ruinous tax cuts that we are still paying for today until forever. He was a puppet president for fat cat corporate elites and it was obvious to any who looked closely enough and didn't believe the hype.

18. He did
Or at least he signed an Executive Order that allowed them to reapply for their jobs. A couple of things to remember here. Most, if not all, of the PATCO controllers signed an agreement that they would NOT strike and federal government workers had no right to strike under the law. PATCO also was one of only two unions that endorsed Raygun in the 1980 election. Few union members wasted any tears on PATCO at the time.

35. OK read your post - Reagan = Obama is what some people have to get
When Obama made the Reagan comparison some people on the left went NUTS. It is because they don't fucking get it. Reagan had limited intellectual knowledge but was DAMN good at being a figure head for what he thought was best for the Country. So Ronnie had limited knowledge, limited accomplishments, but became an instant idol used by Conservative to push an agenda. AND IT WORKED.

We have the counter Reagan, but he is a helluva a lot smarter. Look at what can be done over 20 years rather than what has been done over one year (or what hasn't been done) and realize you can use Obama to argue for everything you want and get a boatload of it!

Design of the jmowreader-approved Reagan Memorial: a plaque bearing his name screwed to the inside of the first toilet in the women's room on the first floor of city hall, so women, who Reagan took a giant shit on for eight years, can return the favor without traveling to California or going to prison.

Be sure to quote the ENTIRE quote instead of cherry picking to support your hero.

The only thing Reagan was successful at, was using racism and treachery to gain support through fear and ignorance.

Reagan's campaign was the initial RNC floating of a complete boob, infinitely malleable, as a power puppet to front the right wing corporatocracy and the military-industrial complex*.

Reagan's election was the beginning of the death of the middle class in America.

He and GWBu$h are tied for Worst President Ever.

* Also see J Danforth Quayle as RNC hollow figurehead trial balloon.

69. Pleasant, perhaps. Genial, maybe. But nice?
No.

Nice is a verb, not a noun. It describes actions. His actions were despicable, cruel, and harmed millions world wide. Does anyone remember the AID's epidemic? Iran-contra? The Iran hostages (kept 3 months after their release was arranged so that their release came AFTER the election - he should be dug up, burned, shot, vaporized and shat on just for that little piece of buggery)?

I'm sure everyone here on the board could mention a dozen thugish and criminal acts he personally oversaw. In fact, let's do just that.

Pile on everyone. Name a Reagan crime or misdemeanor.

I lived through the Reagan years and I couldn't figure it out. Was it because he made stupidity fashionable? I remember how anti education he was. Even as governor. He destroyed the free 2 year colleges in CA.

I see him as Bush with better speaking skills. Kinda like Palin. At least the GOP isn't trying to say Bush was a good prez and Reagan ran up a bigger debt than Bush did and Reagan even raised taxes which Bush refused to do. Why do they like him?
