12 steps of Insanity (* potus?)
http://www.mental-health-today.com/Healing/aa.htm
The Twelve Steps of Insanity

1. We admitted we were powerless over nothing - that we could manage our lives perfectly and those of anyone else who would allow me.

2. Came to believe there was no power greater than ourselves, and the rest of the world was insane.

3. Made a decision to have our loved ones and friends turn their wills and lives over to our care even though they couldn't understand us at all.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of everyone we knew.

5. Admitted to the whole world at large the exact nature of everyone else's wrongs.

6. Were entirely ready to make others straighten up and do right.

7. Demanded others to either "shape up or ship out."

8. Made a list of all persons who had harmed us and became willing to go to any length to get even with them all.

9. Got direct revenge on such people wherever possible except when to do so would cost us our own lives or, at the very least, a jail sentence.

10. Continued to take the inventory of others, and when they were wrong, promptly and repeatedly told them about it.

11. Sought through bitching and nagging to improve our relations with others as we couldn't understand them at all, asking only that they knuckle under and do things our way.

12. Having had a complete physical, emotional, spiritual breakdown as the result of these steps, we tried to blame it on others and to get sympathy and pity in all our affairs.

1. I have to admit that there is a lot of Bush* in that list...
but think about that list in terms of Karl Rove! and Dick Cheney! Our country is being run by a team of people with mental health issues. So much for the Cheney commment: "The adults are in charge now."

3. Neo-cons, in general
Republicans - the good ol' ones who _care_ about US of A & citizens - seem to function ok. But the neo-cons can be scary :scared:

4. 12 Traditions (my original!)
Not to detract from AlAnon http://www.oc-aa.org/1212.htm but upon request:

THE TWELVE TRADITIONS

1. Your welfare should come first; your recovery depends upon you joining me.

2. For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority - as I may express myself in our group conscience. I am your Leader, you are but trusted servants; you do not govern.

3. The only requirement for your membership is a desire to stop thinking.

4. Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting any other groups and the world as a whole.

5. Each group has but one primary purpose - to carry its message to the sane who still suffers.

6. We ought never endorse, finance or lend my name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property and prestige does not allow me to disavow any knowledge of such.

7. Every group ought to be fully self-supporting, always accepting outside contributions.

8. We should remain forever non-professional, but our administration may employ professionals so we can ignore them.

9. We ought never be organized; but we may create committees directly non-responsible to those they serve.

10. We have no opinion on outside issues; hence my name ought never be drawn into public controversy.

11. Our public relations policy is based on promotion rather than fact; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.

12. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place non-disclosure before principles.

Whaddaya think?
