The GOP is...
...stuck in a the Tea Party/Palin/Glenn Beck rut.
Will they continue to apologize to Limbaugh?
How will they get out?
Do they even have a choice?

Do we care?

2. Will they ever be able to compromise with "socialists" and "communists"?
(I think this was brought up on Countdown.)

Should FDR and Churchill have compromised with Hitler? That would seem to be the kind of corner they have backed themselves into with their crazy behavior.

It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic and dangerous.

3. Yes, the lunatics have taken over the asylum.
What an embarrassing time for someone to even claim they're republican.

4. Frum summed it up best when he described it as the GOP finding out they work for FOX.

5. We know the two previous Hamiltonian parties fell apart
once they'd made deals with the devil to gain power and the devils took over.

The GOP might go the way of the Federalist Party and the Whigs.

Then again, the crazy people might split off and form their own party for the crazy people once the Reagan coalition is hopelessly shredded, leaving the GOP intact as a minority party of moneyed Hamiltonian conservatives.

My crystal ball is cloudy right now, but I do know the Reagan coalition has fractured and the crazy people want to take over instead of being used as fronts for the rich men controlling things behind the scenes.

It's going to be interesting to watch over the next several years.
