Nevada's Democratic AG pwns RW Scumbag Governor Gibbons
Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto fired back Friday at Gov. Jim Gibbons, saying while he may be consumed by the legalities of federal health reform, her office has been busy with other matters — including defending him in a number of cases.

“It appears from your letter that the health care reform legislation has been the main focus for your office since last December,” Masto wrote in response to the governor. “Well, that has not been mine.”

She listed a string of cases in which her office is representing the governor or his office, including a recent state Supreme Court argument over e-mails sent by the governor from a state-owned computer, defending him in a federal civil lawsuit filed by a woman fired from Gibbons' office.

3. And didn't he say he'd hire outside council if she doesn't agree
to move forward with his demand to sue? He's such a scumbag.

4. Masto pwns him on that, too. He only thinks he has dicktatorial (sic) powers. Check this:
<snip> Gibbons on Monday renewed his call for Masto, who is a Democrat, to sue the federal government, and said his administration would act on its own if she declines.

Masto says the governor's office has no authority to take legal action on behalf of the state. <snip>

sidenote: my scumbag, bushbot rep joins gibbons in trying to strongarm our AG.

6. Oh. What are we going to run her for?
I feel like I'm listening to a perfect aria on American idol. Surely this talent needs to be appreciated.

"Masto says the governor's office has no authority to take legal action on behalf of the state."

Perfect pitch.

7. I know! Would be nice if she'd challenge Heller
Too late for this time around, I guess. However, if Ensign winds up outta there over all his scandals, perhaps, she would like to be a US Senator.

15. I don't know about AZ, but that is exactly what Georgia's idiot governor says he is going to do
and they are trying to impeach our AG now:

Georgia Attorney General Faces Impeachment Threat After Refusing To File Anti-Health Care Lawsuit

Georgia lawmakers reacted to Wednesday's news that their Attorney General, Democrat Thurbert Baker, would not sign on to a multi-state lawsuit to block the health care bill in his state by filing papers to have him impeached.

The blog Peach Pundit reports that the resolution to impeach Baker, also a candidate for Georgia governor, now has at least 30 signatures and is still going forward.

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, a Republican, petitioned Baker to sign on to the joint lawsuit filed by more than a dozen attorneys general across the country earlier this week that seeks to shield states from the effects of the new health bill, including the so-called "individual mandate," which forces most people to buy insurance.

9. I'm so glad I'm in a state with a kick-ass AG

That's our AG on the left, when he returned from active duty in Iraq (he got called to service a year after he was elected). If you don't know who that guy is on the right -that's his dad!

Beau Biden is busy with some serious caseloads including the Bradley case - a lower DE Pediatrician that molested over 100 children over the years. That is much more important than playing politics with health care

10. Does look like he has a Democratic Governor so avoids having to fight off RW crap
while doing his job. I'm damed proud of Masto in shooting down Gibbons' attempts to use her office for Republican partisan purposes.

14. Nevada went for Obama in 2008 and we have Reid as one of our Senators
Southern Nevada has 2 Democratic House members. Up here in the northern part of the state we have the Bushbot, Dean Heller. Our Senators are Reid and Ensign (R) Pro-rape.

We're purple to red, here with the demographics of Vegas turning us a little bluer but, with one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, a lot of people are leaving the state.

This AG is a bright spot
