Is the Michigan Militia about to rear its ugly head?

Nothing appearing yet on any kind of media that I can find, yet this story led the newscast.

88. check out Chang13A on youtube
(www.youtube.com/user/Chang13A)

"Check www.Militiaradio.com for details. This might be the Kickoff to the 2nd American Revolution. Due to Multi State Lightning Raids on Militias. The others HAVE Mobilized in Michigan and Ohio."

"Also http://libertytreeradio.4mg.com/ use the chatroom links or find us on the ircstorm network. This is NOT a fucking DRILL."

under "channel comments":

" 06:35(mark_Koernke_) He then told me that as hewas packing up his LBE and weapons into the armoredtruck he has that he asked his wife to bring thecongregation together to say a prayer for the militia that may be going to war this sunday." (posted this morning, 3/28)

don't know if this guy is just being melodramatic... after watching his video posted this morning he seems to me to be at least connected into the network.

19. There's this
Not too much info:

(WXYZ) - The FBI was conducting raids Saturday night at multiple locations in southeast Michigan.

Action News has learned Homeland Security and the Joint Anti-terrorism Task Force is also involved in a major operation.

Federal officials would not say who they were targeting or where, but the FBI has set up a command center at the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department in Ann Arbor, where they have brought in two satellite trucks and a radio tower.

Agents have also obtained search warrants and multiple arrests have been made.

20. Anybody else noticed how *local* radio stations aren't really so local. And, they lack a news dept.
Edited on Sat Mar-27-10 10:58 PM by Bozita
I recall an age in which damned near every radio station had its own news bureau and we heard from them every hour, on the half-hour.

Local radio stations are useless if you're looking for local news. ... How damning is that?

57. Yes, I noticed that a year ago, when we had a major ice storm
and ALL the power went out in my city. My neighborhood was out for 4-5 hours...some were out for DAYS. It was a bitterly cold day - I bundled up in my living room and took out the battery radio, searching for some kind of local news to see how widespread the outages were...and lo and behold...there was none on any local station at all. The only local information I could get was the local NPR station, which only mentioned the ice storm and damage to a transmitting tower.

I was extremely annoyed. . .an entire town out of power, some parts for days, and no information on any local radio.

Several police agencies, along with federal agents, descended on the Bayshore Estates mobile home park on Sandusky's east side Saturday evening. One man was led away in handcuffs from a trailer on Cedarwood Drive. Agents on the scene referred all questions to the Detroit and Cleveland FBI field offices, which said Saturday's incident was part of an ongoing investigation and refused to give any information.

http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/03/fbi-agents-raid-hammond-location.html

Hammond police assisted with an FBI raid Saturday evening in the Indiana city, but federal officials would not release any details.

Hammond officials did not know the circumstances surrounding the raid, which began at about 7 p.m. and lasted two hours, said a police dispatcher.

http://www.sanduskyregister.com/articles/2010/03/27/front/doc4bae9ec40d713435821346.txt

A battalion of local officers and federal agents flooded the Bayshore Estates neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

A second raid was conducted in Huron. An FBI agent at the scene of the Bayshore Estates raid said a second, related raid was taking place at “another location.” Huron police confirmed late Saturday a raid had taken place in that city, but would say nothing more.

Likewise, FBI agents at the scene and at the Cleveland field office are staying mum on the cause of the commotion.

“We did make some arrests,” said special agent Scott Wilson of the FBI’s Cleveland office.

He said the warrants were sealed in federal court and he could not release any information until after the suspects appear in court Monday.

Police, federal agents in raids in Sandusky, Huron
By SARAH WEBER Sunday, March 28, 2010

http://www.sanduskyregister.com/articles/2010/03/27/front/doc4bae9ec40d713435821346.txt

Sandusky Police, Erie County Sheriff’s deputies, agents from Toledo Police Bomb Squad and Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s K9 Unit assisted at the scene.

Capt. Paul Sigsworth of the Erie County Sheriff’s office said he could not talk about the investigation.

Agents at Bayshore Estates yelled at residents to stay back at least a block from where they conducted the arrest on East Cedarwood Drive. Agents placed a handcuffed white male wearing a black shirt into a silver car.

Some officers in green uniforms carried large automatic rifles.

back in the day, oh way back in the day I did way too much readying onto the fire on the plains, the way the militia movement identified itself back in the '90s. I would not be shocked if this is not Stupak Related, but a far more wide spread shall we say problem? One of those investigations that take the Feds months, at times years, to do.

Regardless, if this is even distantly related to the militias, they are doing this in a strategic date... BEFORE the open carry rally, and with no much fuss or muss.

That is what the Feds call a signal being sent.

I absolutely agree with you. This advancement needs to be stopped right now. I don't have the stomach to read the predictable, they are bustin' them aryabs comments.

Given the geography and area of country, wrong place for that... but boy right place for some ahem militia activity.

and we'd better 'plain what the back forty is to them urban types.

I am one of them urban types, but I happen to know it. So for the rest of the crowd, the back forty is that area of the property furthest from the front of the property...

:-)

and it is usually in acres.

89. very unlikely in that area of
Lenawee County. A long way from Dearborn and very few Middle Eastern people near Sand Creek/Clayton. Lots of drugs and Mexican transporting of drugs and people. Also a key area of past militias. They use to train in a park in Medina a few miles west. 3 or 4 Deputies that have been arrested or fired live in that area. Very high unemployment, around 15%, rural and wannabe cowboys with a small weekend rodeo along with auto junkyards. Hard to speculate, Arab terrorist would be about last on the list for that area.

63. That was my thought as well.
You'd see a ridiculous amount of DEA/FBI/SWAT/etc around, but I've never heard of the anti-terrorism task force or Homeland Security being involved, even for the scariest of traffickers and drug gangs. Either some bad shit happened, some bad shit was going to happen, or someone thought some bad shit might happen.

My guess would be that they got a tip that a liberal had painted a snarky sign and had to shut it down. ;)

84. Why would this be terrifying? It should be reassuring.
It's not National Guard troops imposing martial law, it's not a massive first responder call up to some kind of attack. It's some dickwads getting taken down BEFORE they actually did anything. It's a good sign in my book.

85. It's terrifying because I read post# 30.
Yes, it's reassuring that the FBI is doing their jobs. But each State has their own militia groups, if this is militia. And if it is militia they seem to be working together. That means they'll be more cropping up. I know New York has the KKK and I don't want to know what they've been planning upstate. That's what freaks me out. That there will be more and what if one of them is missed by the FBI.

87. Yes, there are idiots all over. This will help remind them of reality.
Waco, Ruby Ridge and McVeigh all ended badly. These law enforcement actions will shut down some of the biggest actors and send a message to the others. Notice how there weren't any shots fired, nor was there any general uprising. Why? Because they will be killed. If your upstate KKK gets too far outta line there will be guys from the government willing to assist them in dying for their cause (if they prefer that over going to prison) kicking in their doors. People's fears over these 'militias' are way overblown.

111. Looks like a smaller militia called "Hutaree" is the focus.
Other militias are denying any association with Hutaree, as they were "too radical."

(I hope I can scrub out of my cache the web sites I've been visiting to follow up on this story... yuk.)

Is this true? Are the raids just focused on a small group of people, or are they larger-scope and the bigger militias are just in official-denial mode?
