It was one of my regular stops for political news, but it's flag-waving for the teagaggers is just too much. I let a lot slide even though I knew where they leaned, but enough is enough.
No longer will I go to their site.

5. I've always known it was a pro republican rag with a few truthful stories peppered in for looks |
|
Edited on Sun Mar-28-10 12:08 AM by LaPera
The Fox news of blogs....(Though Fox news never offers any truthful stories).
Just watch the Politico republican writers who show up on news shows, like the Ed Schultz show on MSNBC, etc.
Politico is a republican rag that wants to be a Huffington Post, at least Huffington is honest about keeping all cognizant that it's a progressive site. (Although Huffington couldn't hide being progressive even it if it wanted to).
But Politico tries very hard to hide it and pretends just like Fox news that they are "fair and balanced"...Complete bullshit for anyone who can read between the lines, even if one can't it should still be quite obvious to most thinking aware people.

6. The only time I get aggravate with Huffington Post... |
|
is when they do a piece about Hillary. They just don't like her. I can accept that because I know exactly what I'm dealing with. Not only that, Huffington Post has a lot of other things I like about it.
But with Politico, majority of the articles have a Faux slant to them. Their front page tonight was the straw.
You're right.

Politico is quickly becoming an "Instant" Web Source-But Who are They, and whom do They Serve? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6151571 and took the same pledge as the poster over a year ago! PLEDGE: I will no longer link "Politico" articles in any thread I start or participate in! http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8134610

12. Yup, they came out of nowhere, and instantly became 'mainstream' |
|
I distrusted it immediately. But they are quoted a lot. And, they became instant cable news pundits, too.
At least, that's how I remember it.

13. A quote from that first DU link: |
|
"Trivial stories -- the kind that are tailor-made for forwarding to your brother-in-law or college roommate with a wisecracking note at the top -- can dominate the campaign narrative for days. . . ."
I'm tempted to make a a Fridge Magnet out of that!

Based on most of the comments there, they've turned into Free Republic.

I wasn't joking.
They throw an occasional bone to our side but on the whole they are staunchly conservative. Like the NYT. They suck too.
