It was too late to get tickets when I found out about this. Apparently, it was a packed house. The school posted the following article about the event and I thought I'd pass it along to DU.

Some interesting quotes from the article....

"Scalia said he disagrees with the popular view that the Constitution is a living and evolving document that changes with time."

"“Ideally, the Constitution should be the law that's figured out by lawyers,” Scalia said. “Ultimately if the people take control of what the Constitution means, you have destroyed the Bill of Rights, because the Bill of Rights is meant to protect you and me against the people. Regarding his flagburning vote:

actually I thought the Bill of Rights is meant to protect us from tyrants like Scalia and his bud Darth Cheney.

2. Notice the student said faculty seemed to have an agenda

and seemed to ask canned questions. I was surprised they actually had a pic of him and posted a full article.

4. No on this point he is indeed correct

The tyranny of the majority is what we are protected from. If it were to be left up to just majority rule we would probably still have slavery and women would be barefoot and pregnant...Supposedly we are all equal under the law even if the majority want to deprive you of it...Scalia doesn't follow his own logic in his decisions though...He is completely political..
