Give two minutes for Stephanie Miller
I'll bet you could write a note encouraging MSNBC to give Mama the morning spot permanently in 120 seconds or less!

Ready, set... GO!

5. Yep.. I wonder if she would want to live there...
Doesn't sound like it.. It costs a ton and is a big hassle to move coast to coast, and she's a californiac:)..

And what if she made the move, and then the gig was cancelled?

They could simulcast from HER studio if they wanted to, anyway :) That makes more sense

12. If anyone is too lazy to write one they can steal and/or alter this one. . .
Dear Mr. Abrams,

I'm sure you may recall Jon Stewart's comment on Crossfire when he
said "stop it you are hurting America" to Tucker Carlson (and I forget
who else) regarding their dumbed down intractable shouting matches
wherein the fallacy was continually perpetuated that this land once lauded and
revered as "the land of the lively discussion" can only possibly be
represented by two limited points of view.

Well by giving Stephanie Miller Imus's old slot for 3 days, you have
helped America in a way that resonates with probably far more than 70%
of the population.

Please, please, please. . .enable her to share her smart, savvy,
funny, insights with a national audience on a regular basis. She is
truly a national treasure who fully has earned, and is more than
worthy of a continuance of this opportunity to share her astute wisdom
and delightful smile.

Thanks for your consideration,
stella

how refreshing it is to hear her as compared to Imus or some other Fox Noise Channel clone reciting Republican talking points. I tried to appeal to the marketing portion of their brains by telling them that even at the height of the right wing's popularity (which passed right after Katrina), 50% or more of the people in this country stood for progressive values and against the current administration. Our numbers are growing rapidly now as Americans wake up and smell the lies of the past six years. That's a big chunk of prime demographic who is out there searching for a progressive voice in the media that tells our side. Keith Olbermann's popularity is growing, Rush Limbaugh's and Bill O'reilly's is dropping...do the smart thing and walk point on this trend by adding the Stephanie Miller Show.

14. wish she would replace Beck on CNN
His hysterical eye bulging and "I'm hip, I"m cool, I'm just a regular RW guy" routine is phoney, dull and pathetic.

Stephanie would ROCK in his time slot.
Is anyone lsitening at CNN?

15. CNN is nothing but a RW mouthpiece
I believe that is why they wanted Keith so bad. They wanted him under contract so they could shut him up.
I think any progressive voice should steer clear of Cesspool Nasty News.

16. I watched her show yesterday and she stated EMPHATICALLY that she DID NOT want to stay at MSNBC.
She said people had been overloading MSNBC phones asking for her to be a regular and she said..."PLEASE STOP...I don't even want to go there. Momma IS NOT staying here to do the MSNBC show." SHE HATES IT. She can't wait to go home.

How tacky can you be? So yesterday, she was wearing armpit pads under her shirt.....she REALLY hates doing her show on TEEVEE. She also said they've had to 'clean things up' for MSNBC. She felt stifled.

35. I wondered about that
Missed watching her on MSNBC and only got the chance to tune in for the first time today since last Thursday. :(

My first thought was that I can see the echo machine going from rumble to roar at the first mention of being Russ Feingold's next wife. I think she's hilarious and one of her cohorts laughs just has me rolling every time I hear him!!! But the Cons would start a campaign to throw her off the air from day one...and it could probably be traced straight from the Focus on the Family or Family Research Council or some other RWers that live to snuff Liberal voices.

28. But what if all of the calls inspire MSNBC to make her a deal she can't refuse...
Like doing the show from LA, at a different time (maybe night when she can let lose and say what she wants to say), with a mega-air conditioner to keep her cool and comfy, and only the staff she loves and a big salary...

In any case, being on MSNBC is going to get her a lot of new listeners for her show whether she stays exclusively radio or goes teevee.

19. have to get this off my chest... I like Stephanie, but rarely get to
hear her, so it isn't that. I'd be fine with her getting the MSNBC spot. It isn't that.

But, I HATE seeing her fans, especially DUers referring to her as Mama--even if she encourages that. It is so "ditto head-like" that I just absolutely CRINGE. :eyes: Ok, I've vented....I'm better now....

Good luck to Steph at MSNBC or wherever she wishes to go.

31. I'm not criticizing her. She simply isn't part of my world.
I'm assuming she's a daytime media personality. Lots of DUers love her, so she must be good.

And Imus -- only saw still photos of him and never heard his voice live on tv or radio. Again, his world and mine never intersected.

btw -- great vid. thx.

27. While I Agree with her
I just hate that style of morning zoo radio, now if we could talk them into carrying "The Young Turks" I'd be all for it. I quit my cable 6 months ago, so I guess I don't count anyway, you all should consider this the price of cable is highway robbery in this country! Plus it adds much more to your life.

36. I honestly don't think it's a good idea.
She is great in small doses, and I think every day would wind up losing audience pretty quickly. I actually kind of like the idea of splitting it up, putting Stephanie on two or three days a week interspersed with some conservative jack-asses like Smirky Smirconish or some such. It's a way of defusing the "That's a liberal bullshit station!" meme of the righties, and it also would confuse them, since a lot of them will likely tune in on the "wrong" days expecting to find a regular GOP talking points show, but getting the truth instead.

Don't get me wrong...I love Stephanie Miller's show. But I think we should be careful what we ask for. She is pretty hard-core liberal, and I think a daily dose could actually wind up alienating quite a few viewers, too. Dan Abrham's could be a real visionary and actually create a "fair and balanced" network by presenting real, actual varying viewpoints, instead of just putting on token punching bags like Whathisname Colmes to play stooge to Sean Hannity.

Just my two cents.

She said she would be back tomorrow, but I'm not sure whether she meant "back to California", or "back to the show". She does have a replacement from time to time.
