1. No surprises there
Let's see...oil companies? Obscene profits. Insurance companies? Obscene profits. Credit card usury practices? Obscene profits.
Yet...Americans were led to believe that attorneys like John Edwards who sued these corporations were badddd.
I wonder how people are liking that "freshly-fucked" feeling that the republicans have given them?

3. Very sad.
Let's see if I have this right...
Do away with bankruptcy protection....raise credit card rates...raise oil prices...make healthcare costs almost unattainable even WITH insurance...
Can't afford to go to the Doctor...whip out the plastic.
Can't afford to fill up the tank...whip out the plastic.
Can't afford to pay the electric bill...whip out the plastic....
You see where this is going.
More rich people making more money on the backs of the working people. Bushco Operating Policy #1

6. The REAL Mission Accomplished. Seems bu$hco isn't as incompetent as we think nor are they
miserable failures. They have accomplished almost all they set out to. Well they still have privatize Social Security, yet. Wall Street is drooling over that prospective windfall.

4. Yeah, and the Republicons don't wear condoms, so they spread their disease
all over the place. Even to other countries.

They'll do anything to shove democracy down the throats of the rest of the world. You'll like it, we promise. It's good for you. And if you don't cooperate, we'll bomb the shit out of your country, kill you, and claim we're doing it to fight terrorism.

5. That's not fair...they care less about democracy than free-markets
They love to have no resistance to their efforts to redistribute wealth from your pockets to theirs.

7. Ah, but they can't just come out and say that.
That would be telling the truth.

They have to disguise it as fighting terrorism, spreading democracy, etc.

It's all bullshit. I believe most Americans are on to them, but I fear we're such a complacent society, we won't get off our fat butts to do anything until it actually impacts us personally. As long as it's happening to others, it's OK.

9. When I retired I scissored all of the credit cards, (I had many).
Funny, I have far more left for savings at the end of the month since I am not using the cards!! What is wrong with writing a check or paying for something in cash? I'm retired and have more disposable income than when I was working. Get rid of those damn cards people!!

11. Absolutely. Why submit to usury as a day to day thing?
I dumped my credit card 5 years ago. I really don't miss it.

10. VERY simple explanation. MEW (Mortgage Equity Withdrawal) is drying up. People going to credit cards
to keep up their spending and trying to keep above water.

Dangerous downward spiral.
