The Durbin "scandal" is a bunch of B.S.
I read this stuff and I ask myself, what's the big deal? Is there anything new here?

The answer is no.

The next question is, then why is everyone making such a stink about this?

My answer is that Mitch McConnell's desperate attempt to change the converstaion has improbably scored some success with some people.

The image below shows the genesis of the "scandal." Note the sources: National Review, Washington Times (Moonie rag), PowerLine blog, CNS News (a Brent Bozell joint), UPI (Moonie news wire citing the Moonie Rag's story), Washington Times again (Moonie rag running the Moonie wire item citing the Moonie rag's original story).

This Seems Outrageous....

Via Senate Republican staff:

SAY WHAT? DID SEN. DURBIN RUN THIS PAST HIS COLLEAGUES?

DURBIN SAYS INTEL COMMITTEE MEMBERS WERE AWARE THAT IRAQ INTEL
DID NOT SUPPORT THE RHETORIC IN RUN-UP TO IRAQ WAR

(etc.)

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's office circulated an e-mail Wednesday highlighting Mr. Durbin's comments, but his office didn't respond to requests yesterday to elaborate on the e-mail.
