One Hutaree explains his belief in the logic of the Apocalypse, hoping for enough death and destruction to bring about a more pure society. “Enough people and things must be destroyed so that the system may start back over and inflate to maximum potential again. What possible sense does it make to say "I have always thought of Christ as more of a militant"? It's like saying "I have always thought of $arah Palin as an articulate, wise voice of reason", or "I have always thought of Mother Teresa as a bloodthirsty child killer".

I've read other books and essays by Alan Watts, but never that one. It's amazing, and it couldn't be more timely. I'm going to repost that on the Religion & Spirituality section of another forum, both for those who need to be reminded of their spiritual priorities and those who don't. As for the "true believers," well...one can always hope.
