God I seriously love this man, I really do.

Voyeur West Hollywood: Michael Steele Spent GOP Funds At Club, Lavish Hotels

The Daily Caller's Jonathan Strong has basically won the morning with a story about RNC Chairman Michael Steele's lavish lifestyle on the road. Strong reports that Steele "once raised the possibility of using party money to buy a private jet for his travel," and has run up some substantial tabs at some of our nation's nicest hotels. But if you ask me, he sort of buried the lede... probably strategically! Because look what awaits you in paragraph six:

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

Oh, wow, awesome. Note that Strong's done his due diligence on the amount spent. As of this writing, Voyeur's website is not loading, probably because every single staff member of the Democratic National Committee is currently on the site, looking for images of Steele in the champagne room. But check out some of the Yelp testimonials:

The girl at the door sent us in right away and told us to go to a table by the bar and get some free Champagne. Seriously. This club is amazing. There are topless "dancers" acting out S&M scenes throughout the night on one of the side stages, there's a half-naked girl hanging from a net across the ceiling and at one point I walked to the bathroom and pretty much just stopped dead in my tracks to watch two girls simulating oral sex in a glass case.
-snip-

14. I'm seriously wondering if Steele is trying to implode the RNC from the inside.
He's begging for a firing. Perhaps to sue the RNC for breech of his civil rights? Wouldn't that be interesting. There has to be a reason why he's still chair, I just can't think of a reason why he hasn't been dumped...unless he's already conveyed his threat to drag the RNC through a very nasty, hi-profile law suit. I'm betting that he's has a rather large settlement figure on table to walk away from the chairmanship...something in the 7 figure range.

18. I admit I checked their website earlier today, after the story broke...
and also read the yelp reviews.

It's probably not hard to run through $1600 at a place like that. I'm not too familiar with the LA nightclub scene, but there's a heavy emphasis put bottle service in order to get into the club. One post mentioned $1100 for 2 bottles of vodka!

Here it is. yelp review:
As good as it gets in terms of places to be in LA. I can say this place is full of nothing but incredily attractive women, rich guys, and celebrities. Voyeur is very very exclusive and unless your a 8 or above ladies or willing to get bottle service ( 2 bottles =$1,100) fellas, be prepared to be turned away. I think this is one of the hottest places that I've been to in my many years in LA. The half naked models and topless dancers alone is worth the price of admission.

21. It's not hypocrisy, really, it's a kind of "balance"

... i.e., espouse heavy-handed social controls on sexual behavior in public, which makes up for engaging in the most troubling and problematic private behaviors imaginable. A/k/a: "Family values."

22. Bet he has a high up in the ranks GOP sponsor
that is his "playmate."

Of all the idiots in the world they pick this one to lead their Party?

Huum ~ I'm African American and "Lil Mikie and "Lil Thomas have always been mysteries to me and to our community in general.

Have you noticed, the Rethugs never never complain about him -- never!

He was put there for a reason other than to make Black People think Rethugs are "inclusive" as a Party. They should know by our overwhelming vote for Obama that 'Lil Mike is certainly not "one of us," we don't claim either one of them.

I wonder if his BFF is ROVE ? MC CAIN ? CHENEY ?

26. Steele has been bilking the RNC for awhile now....
He just finally got caught with his pants down....er...well, somebody had their pants down!

When Steele took over the chairmanship last winter, he inherited a $23 million surplus. Since then, the former Maryland lieutenant governor has raised $10 million less than the party collected in 2005 and has spent $10 million more. By the end of 2009, the committee’s surplus had shrunk to $8.4 million, according to campaign finance reports.
