The RNC issued a statement that Steele wasn't there and that they've asked for the money back from the staffer who submitted the tab for reimbursement.

Whew! Steele gets through another one! I'm glad - he's such a reliable form of entertainment that I would hate to see him lose his job.

The fact it was expensed is prima facie evidence that he was there.

... but it looks like they expensed because other RNC people were there... Not sure. Looks like more on the story is coming out right now..

among other things!

Reminds me of when Obama stopped by the Daily Show on his way to the Pennsylvania primary elections. Jon Stewart recommended a restaurant he should try when he got to Pittsburgh. I immediately got on the Internet to see if the restaurant had a web site, and I couldn't--so many other TDS fans had done the same thing it had crashed!
