We have to ask the question: Why do the republicans continue to stand along with *bush?
They know, as do we, that this War in Iraq is another Viet Nam as well as a mislead, fraudulent War for corporate robbery of our $$$.

They know all the facts that we do but continue to side with *bush even as they know the right thing to do was to vote for the Bill. What keeps them compliant to *bush/cheney? I

If we knew what the pressure points were, no doubt enforced by Bohener and McConnell, if we knew the secret details, then we could scrape off that scab and help direct them to vote for the people instead.

What do you think the pressure points are?

3. They are afraid of a bloodletting in Iraq if we leave on their watch.
They are hoping against hope that the surge will work. Some of them just love war.

6. Because their ego's won't let them admit to making mistakes
conservatives seem to think that no matter how many times their grand schemes fail if they just keep doing them some day they will turn out the way they want. It's like the drunk that goes into a bar, gets loaded, goes home, then beats up the wife and kids. When they sober up in jail its not their fault that they did what they did, its the wife or the kids or the cops at fault. Then that night they go back to the same bar and do it all over. A never ending cycle of stupidity that ends up in the same results but they keep trying until something different happens, just don't ask them to make changes.

12. Which highlights well what a dangerous thing the ego is...
Edited on Wed May-02-07 10:46 AM by cooolandrew
... An ego tends to get us in trouble, act overly defensive and makes us hurt. Democrats being the party of 'we', are less egotistical because we put others first. The ideal party for an over inflated ego, is the Republican party of 'me.'

15. Excellent example.......
How can we at least swing a few to the good side to over-ride a veto? What techniques do we employ?

16. There is the main problem, you can't get them over to your side
They believe what they believe end of story. Dealing with that type of self centered person they can't see past how it effects them in the long run, remember these are short term goaled people, everything must meet their requirements in a short time. Remember democratics think in long term goals, which is part of the reason we stay away from get rich ideals. Look at who buys into the get rich quick books and TV ads, you'll find the vast majority lean to the right. The republican party has been able to use that as one of the tools to get elected, notice not one republican thinks past short time goals, everything depends on today and everything in the future remains the same as it is today. Who was the party that insisted in 2000 that SUV's were the best vehicles to buy because gas was cheap in 2000. Notice who bought SUV's and who bought compact cars. You'll see that it falls to who voted for which party by the Vehicles they bought. Remember GW told america in 2000 that gas would never get above $2 a gallon.

7. They want to present a united front, but will soon fracture as the
reality of the 08 elections rears up; their timetable deadline seems to be September. Frankly, I think they just want a pass for now so they can enjoy their summer vacations before they shit into the fan.
So to speak.;)

... to office, it's all too weird. Most of the world gets it and even with mass propaganda, there isn't much excuse at this point for their support.

11. Is not ignoring 2/3 of the American people's will political suicide?
I don't get it either - more madness!!!!

Fine - the rethug obstructionists will be swept out of power in 08. Their blind following of our delusional President will lead to DEM majorities that could last a decade, if not an entire generation!

The tragic aspect is all the people who will die in Iraq between now and 09 - when a DEM President finally brings this conflict to and end!

doesnt affect their "beautiful" little world, they couldnt care less. They live their lives in their own bubbles and care nothing for what else is going on, even if it entails millions being displaced and hundreds of thousands being killed.
