NC-SEN Gen. Wes Clark endorses Cal Cunningham
Great News from North Carolina!

Today General Wesley Clark endorsed Cal Cunningham and his campaign to defeat Richard Burr. http://securingamerica.com/node/3287

Almost 4 years ago General Clark threw his support behind Jim Webb, catapulting that veteran to a primary win and eventually a win over George Allen.

Now Clark is backing Iraq War Veteran Cal Cunningham in North Carolina. As General Clark points out, Cal would be the very first veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan elected to the U.S. Senate. Cal was awarded both the Bronze Star and the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award for his service in Iraq prosecuting rogue contractors who were harming our mission in Iraq. http://www.flickr.com/photos/calfornc/4158127533/

Here is what the General had to say:

Cal has seen war and understands it's time to "Conclude the Mission in Iraq. With Honor. Period."

Cal knows sexual orientation plays no role on the battlefield, and that it's time to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

Cal knows first-hand why we must break our "destructive dependence on foreign oil from unfriendly regimes," and he recognizes that climate change poses a critical threat to our national security.

Cal will fight for veterans and honor their sacrifices.

So please join General Clark in supporting a veteran who will stand up for what is right.

2. Has he endorsed Bill Halter yet?
Arkansas is a state he could have some influence in. The race is a top priority for the progressive movement.

3. Agreed
I agree on the priority, and the influence he could have there.

I know this endorsement of Cal has a lot to do with veterans issues. We need Dems like Clark, John Kerry, Jim Webb, and Cal Cunningham, who are strong on national security and issues of War & Peace.

The republicans like to pretend they're strong on national security, and they talk big and bold, but can't back it up. With Democrats like Cal Cunningham and Jim Webb in the Senate, we can back it up.

4. Clark Endorsement
General Wes Clark knows that Cal Cunningham is a progressive who is grounded in the real world. That's why he endorsed web, and that's why he endorsed Cal. I'm proud to be a part of Cal's Campaign. Cal will get things done.
