9 Christian Militia members arrested in murder plot
9 militia members charged in police-killing plot

DETROIT – Nine suspects tied to a Christian militia that was preparing for the Antichrist were charged with conspiring to kill police officers, then kill scores more by attacking a funeral using homemade bombs, federal prosecutors said Monday.

The Michigan-based group, called Hutaree, planned to use the attack on police as a catalyst for a larger uprising against the government, according to newly unsealed court papers. U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade said agents moved quickly on the group because its members were planning a violent mission sometime in April.

Members of the group, including its leader, David Brian Stone, also known as "Captain Hutaree," were charged following FBI raids over the weekend on locations in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Seven people were arraigned in Detroit on Monday, and another one of Stone's sons, Joshua, is being sought.

Stone's ex-wife, Donna Stone, told The Associated Press before the arraignments that her former husband was to blame for pulling her son into the movement. She said David Brian Stone legally adopted her son, David Brian Stone Jr., who is among those indicted.

"It started out as a Christian thing," said Donna Stone, 44. "You go to church. You pray. You take care of your family. I think David started to take it a little too far."

"The indictment says members of the group conspired 'to levy war against the United States, (and) to oppose by force the authority of the government of the United States...'

"...All seven defendants in court on Monday requested to be represented by the federal defender's office, and a bond hearing is set for Wednesday."

7. We have more to fear from the Radical Right Wing than the Taliban
You are many thousands times more likely to be the victim of a right wing christian, than to ever meet a member of the Taliban or Al Quida

The FBI has arrested eight people and is looking for a ninth charged with conspiring to kill police officers, then attack a funeral using homemade bombs in the hopes of killing more law enforcement personnel. Federal prosecutors said Monday the suspects are tied to the Michigan-based Christian militia group Hutaree. They are:

— David Brian Stone, 44, of Clayton, Mich.;

— his son, David Brian Stone, Jr., of Adrian, Mich.;

— Stone’s other son, Joshua Matthew Stone, who federal authorities say is a fugitive;

— Jacob J. Ward, 33, of Huron, Ohio;

— Kristopher T. Sickles, 27, of Sandusky, Ohio;

— Joshua John Clough, 28, of Blissfield, Mich.;

— Michael David Meeks, 40, of Manchester, Mich.;

— Tina Mae Stone. The indictment did not provide an age or hometown for her
