2. i thought this was great - after all monkey poop thrown about waterboarding
To: DannyTN
I’d like to see some proof. And not just “confessions” they get after arm twising with threats of life sentences to familiy members for “non-cooperation.”

7. But torture at Gitmo produces actionable intelligence...
Why don't their little heads go Kaboom when they divide by zero?

16. If people worked like that, we'd live in a political paradise
It would make it a lot harder to lie. Open hypocrisy would be a thing of the past.

3. The republicans are drawing a straight line from themselves to Palin and the Teabaggers...
and right to the Christian Militia. I can't wait to see them all come together on April 19th. They may not be standing in the same room but they will be in the same news reports.

10. It's pretty sick these assholes are already apologists for these terrorists
At least one even apologizes for McVeigh.

Plotting to kill civilians (which includes cops) for political purposes is terrorism. Trying to defend terrorists makes you pretty much an asshole of the 1st degree.

some of the comments are like this was a real American with real grievances blah blah blah... yeah whatever, our government sucks but killing random people isn't going to fix it/destroy it/whatever their fantasy is

23. Wingnuts hate terrorism just so long as it's carried out by a non-white
If a wingnut decides to commit a terrorist act against the government when the Democrats are in power, they are all for it. It's just another example of their boundless hypocrisy, as if we needed another.

11. Here's a truly insane little tid-bit..
"Sounds like a lefty group from the 60's. My feeling is that they had a leftist infiltrator who made the suggestion and then turned everyone in like it was everyone else's idea. Typical tactic of the left."

Sounds like he's referring to cointelpro or something similar, but he's just a little confused about what actually was going on.

Leftist infiltrators??

13. So do I. And that they'll be until proven guilty. . .
That's kind of the beauty of the system I favor.

19. Our legal system doesn't require you to believe anyone is innocent

The presumption of innocence is a rule for conducting trials, which determines the state to carry the initial burden of production.

If I walk up to you on the street and punch you, there is nothing requiring you to consider me not guilty until proven otherwise. Likewise, there is no such requirement for law enforcement, or nobody would ever be arrested for anything.

14. Since they didn't post the plans online, it didn't happen.
"...The group’s website says, quoting Jesus, “Greater love has no man than this...”

It talks about being prepared to resist the anti-Christ and prepared for Jesus’ return.

I fail to see a connection between that and killing local cops."

"I have been all over their website, they look like Christians who are preparing for end times. I can’t find any threats against any government or muslim, but I haven’t followed all the links, yet. Mostly just stockpiling guns and supplies and getting ready for the end times. Not a crime."

Throwing this one in for the irony:

"Is there a law that can be used to require the government to produce these guys and to determine that they are unhurt and properly treated? Someone needs to at least give them a chance to deny the charges."

15. It's how a lot of folks think
in Lenawee County. 40 miles south of Ann Arbor. They call that "Moscow on the Huron". Some have even traveled out the US to Ohio. At one time on Rt 34 some one put up a sign that said. Clayton, Meth Capital of the World. Stop and see how it is made. The Sheriffs Dept has as many employs in jail as working there. You may note that in all of the news pictures there are no Lenawee Sheriffs cars, only State Police. All the bust in other counties have lots of Sheriffs' cars in the pictures.

18. Summary based on what y'all have posted...
Freepers suddenly become big supporters of Habeus Corpus.

Freepers suddenly see no utility in heavy-handed interogation tactics in eliciting valuable information from terrorists.

Caveat: but only when like-minded terrorists are involved.

--------------

That about sum it up or did I miss the finer points?
