My first post in my lung transplant blog....
Edited on Mon Mar-29-10 11:41 PM by WCGreen
Today I begin, with all due respect to Harvey Pekar and his Our Cancer Year Graphic Novel, the chronicle of My Lung Transplant Years. Like Mr. Pekar, I will share all the good and the bad stuff. All the mind numbing mundane of waiting for tests, waiting for doctors and waiting for it all to be over will be put up here for all to see.

I am not going to pull any punches.

3. Good for you!
I just left a comment. Your blog looks great: very easily read, straight forward, concise, intelligent.

It is much better to be proactive rather than reactive, when you're faced with a life crisis of this magnitude. I am proud of your efforts.

I wish you every success as you begin this blog.

I didn't realize that you're now on the transplant list. Bless you, my friend.

13. Good luck!
A friend of mine went through this. He had a hereditary type of emphysema, and got a single transplant. I would drive him to his weekly pre-op appointments, so I got a pretty good idea of the rigorous therapy it takes to stay in shape for surgery. My friend's strength was that he was determined, and had the discipline it took (and it took a lot) to keep up with everything he needed to do. Wishing you the best--Hang in there! Love & Peace . . .

Good to be here. (I'm in CA, too--if that's where you are, and not just where you're from.)

22. I'm going to try and keep it up at least three or four times a week...
I don't want to get weighed down in the minutia of my ever shrinking daily life.

I want to give everyone interested in or has a Friend or relative going through this a place to see what happens, what they can expect, what it's like to be facing major life altering surgery.
