Christopher Hitchens on MJ drunk again
How the hell did mika mouse get a gig on mj. She's horrid. Today she's trying to convince everybody that the hate speak is equal on the right and left. She keeps saying that cantor was the only congress person to receive a death threat. Are you kidding me. Nobody else will even speak up and say; what about stupak, what about the congressman's brother whose gas line was cut. What about several other dems, whos names unfortunately escape me this minute, that received threats before, during and after the HCR vote.

Hitchens looks really bad. I think he is in the last stages of chronic alcoholism.

1. Cantor must be really grateful that someone finally got around to threatening him.
What a relief those death threats must be!

2. I am sure family connections had nothing to do with it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mika_Brzezinski

Brzezinski was born in New York City, the daughter of foreign policy expert and former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski and sculptor Emilie Anna Benešová, a grandniece of Czechoslovakia's former president Edvard Beneš. Her father was then teaching at Columbia University, but the family moved to McLean, Virginia, near Washington, D.C., in late 1976, when Zbigniew was named National Security Advisor by newly-elected President Jimmy Carter.

Brzezinski attended The Madeira School during her high-school years. She graduated in 1989 from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where she majored in English, after transferring from Georgetown University as a junior.

3. I know. I've been screaming exactly what you said at my teevee
all morning - about the death threats, that is. And did you hear that piece of shit Buchanan? He said something to the effect of "Yes, Barney Frank was called a name...something I'm sure he's been called before...not that it's right..." What the mother-fucking hell???

4. She's horrendous...
Unfrickin believable that a major news outlet would allow this moron three hours of air time every morning. She needs to go over to FUX and pretend she's one of those fake democrats they love to have on to pretend they're fair and balanced. With her bleached blonde hair and her mini skirts, she'd fit right in.

6. Cantor's case
It sounds like this whackjob has a long and extended history of threatening all DC politicians across the board and even Verizon wireless and even youtube.

If his Cantor threat is of the same stuff as his 1,500 other threats he has been creating, the this whole Cantor affair is a case of SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT AT IT'S EXTREME. Therefore, the coverage omitting this crucial background info is biased in it's extreme and is an extremely misleading story!

Didn't this guy at least do equivalent threatening to Obama and Pelosi, among others?

Something about this story seems like the whole deal was gamed by somebody in our government with a Right leaning agenda. This extreme bias is yet another reason why our MSM is not performing it's Constitutional Role to keep our citizens informed with facts about current events.

I just hope more and more Americans are getting wise to the fact that most of our MSM is nothing more than corporate fascist propaganda to get you to buy buy buy and accept public policies that favor the wealthy at the expense of the rest of us.

7. Why do you people watch that crap?
It is DESIGNED to piss you off!
Divide and conquer.
Spend all of your time yelling at the TV rather than ACTUALLY doing something.

Day after day after day after day, supposedly intelligent people come here and bitch and moan and whine about how horrible that show is.
STOP GIVING THEIR ADVERTISERS YOUR EYEBALLS!
Then maybe they will go away...

14. And why do you care what some of us watch in the morning...
I watch it less frequently than I used to, but they do have some pretty decent guests. Eugene Robinson is a frequent guest along with a lot of top tier dems from the party and the world of literature and print media.

Don't worry about what some of us choose to watch. It may end up "pissing you off" and then you might start "bitching and moaning" about it.

18. It's causing brain damage among...
...seemingly intelligent people!
It's purpose is to rile you up so that you salve the pain by purchasing the latest product from our sponsor.
It's a drug that damages neurons.
It's blather in your ear to distract rather than inform.
It is one step closer to Idiocracy.
It's part of the silly sadness that this once-great nation has become...

19. You posted about it on a public discussion forum
And that post is filled with questions that can be answered. Don't ask if you don't want to hear it. If no one watched that stuff, and then came running to DU to tell the world about it, they would not be on the air. You are what they seek when they go on. Your eyes, your emotion, your reaction. You are the Morning Joe Base.

22. agree 100%
I think they have great guests - like Gene Robinson this morning. I watch daily.

I find it hilarious that the same posters complain daily about this show . . . like they have no control over their TVs.

24. Well, for me there are two reasons:
1. They have good guests. I like to see Lawrence O'Donnell, Katrina Vandenheuval, Elizabeth Warren and Eugene Robinon and many other left of center commentators. But I have started to check the roster the night before so I can tune in carefully. AND I switch the channel as soon as Joe gets on a rant.

2. I like to know the RW spin. When a leftish spokesperson comes on, he or she is usually refuting a RW lie and I get to see the other side of the story. That's important to me and should be to you also. We have to have SOME outlet for the truth, even if it comes out in little bits...

26. Near as I can tell, they watch it so they have something to come here...
and complain about. Or maybe they're just masochists.

Notice that nobody EVER has anything good to say about it, which does make one wonder.

9. Did you see Hitchens on Maher last Friday?
He came out trying to hide a bottle that he kept between his legs during the interview. He was lucid enough, but...

My 16-year-old has taken to watching MJ before he leaves for school. Any help, advice, suggestions will be appreciated. Don't know where we went wrong.

11. Rep. Vic Snyder of Ark. most certainly received a death threat letter.
http://www.wxvt.com/Global/story.asp?S=12208596

As I said before, nothing ambiguous about this.

Pat Buchanan was on there earlier saying the left was violent in the 60's, and the riots in LA in 92 were "left wing". He is grasping at thin air, especially with LA.

Ratigan, I think, went on to say that what makes this different is we didn't have Congress justifying the violence 'because they're angry', standing on the balcony of the House waving 'kill this or that' signs, or refusing to sign a statement denouncing violence with the other party. I think that is a big difference. IMHO.

15. The guy who threatened Cantor also threatened democrats & others...
The guy making the threats is an 'equal opportunity' hater who threatens people of all stripes. That separates him from the right wing haters who regularly threaten only those on the left.
