Hey DU. It looks like I have a job.
Edited on Tue Mar-30-10 11:43 AM by xultar
First I just want to say thank you again for all of your words of support and comfort. I don't think I could have made it through without you guys.

I'll be on assignment in Southern Ca. I'm not happy about that or the travel but I gotta do what I gotta do.

For me, things have changed. I guess I'll never quit looking for work. That makes me sad for some reason. I guess it is like being a hustler 24/7. In this economy we'll all have to hustle and hustle and hustle. That isn't how I want to live my life.

If I had all the money in the world, all I'd want to do is rescue Chihuahuas. I would scour the earth for Chihuahuas in need and take them to my facility and love on them for the rest of their days. I guess I would adopt some out but I'd want the staff to do periodic home visits at least 4 times a year. But, if I did have the money spend my time loving on Chihuahuas and making the world a better place for pets in general. I'd go to vet school, send people on scholarship to vet schools...and they'd have to work for me and my Chihuahuas for a certain time. I'd pay for housing for my employees, health care, day care, it would be an oasis of love for everyone involved.

I'm not doing what I want to do but at least it will allow me to care for my little family of 5 Chihuahuas right here in the ATL which is all I really want right now.

Anyway thanks again DU. I LOVE YOU. I guess this time I'll have more time to post drunk that will be a long ass flight.

Oh this isn't the job I reapplied for I've been working on this for a while.

So this is a whole different company and a whole different job?

Good for you for finding something so quickly! I thought that you were a slam-dunk for the other position at your old company, so it's really impressive that you lined up a whole new job so soon!

I'm with you, xultar. I've always said if I was to win the lottery, I would open a farm-type place to take care of poor, unloved animals. How about if either one of wins, we'll go into business together?:hi:

Edit to add: Bonus - I also loves to get my drunk on!

10. You are on. I don't like hot weather but I'll live anywhere that is good
for the animals.

So Arizona or New Mexico is fine. No TX and no FL or LA, MS though.

16. Oooh...just one more thing we have in common.
I despise hot weather. I would even move to the Northeast - cold weather means more cold animals (I can't stand to think about homeless animals living in freezing weather) - and there would be a lot more liberals around.

The best place on Earth I've ever been was Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during New Year.

Narrowly beat Chicago by a couple of degrees.

32. My parents saw fit to emigrate here.
And now I have wife, kids, and a specialized, relatively high-paying job. It's not exactly easy to leave.

But I swear you. I'm not going to live in this furnace the rest of my life. No way, no how.

17. So Cal's not that bad...
From a former Jersey girl who misses the East Coast like crazy.

As for the animals, if you can get yourself north of LA, there is a farmed animal sanctuary called Animal Acres that you can visit every Sunday, or volunteer at during the week. They save cows, chickens, sheep, etc. from stockyards and the like, and bring them to the farm to live out their lives.

Plus, where I live (an hour outside LA, but I work there with no real problems), we get four seasons and cool weather for half the year (yay, mountains!).

Nice to hear that you were able to find something fairly quickly. That travel's gonna suck but if you do it often enough you should be eligible for BC upgrades pretty quickly.
