Judge found sworn testimony 'belied' the facts

Exclusive: FEC commissioner helped RNC conceal role in 2004 vote suppression

Caroline Hunter, a Bush-appointed Federal Election Commissioner who remains in office, provided misleading statements under oath in an effort to conceal Republican National Committee involvement in vote suppression activities during the 2004 presidential election, a Raw Story investigation has found.

Legal experts say Hunter's submission of misleading statements under oath is a serious ethical and professional breach which could warrant a bar review and potential disbarment. At the time, Hunter was serving as deputy counsel to the Republican National Committee.

How a young Republican lawyer became a central witness

In the final days of the 2004 presidential election, the Democratic National Committee files an injunction against the Republican National Committee in New Jersey federal court, alleging its involvement in using lists of returned mail to challenge 35,000 newly registered Ohio voters. This tactic, also known as voter caging, is historically employed to suppress votes from minority and low-income citizens who tend to vote Democratic.

6. Dem establishment had no interest in getting fair count in 2000, 2002, 2004, or 2006.
They wanted Bush to have everything he wanted and then let Clintons come back to make it appear like a balanced contest.

Howard Dean's DNC focused on strengthening party infrastructures in neglected states like Ohio, and THAT is what made the difference in 2006.

3. Want evidence...from Ken Blackwell's own internal SOS report:
-In late September or early October an employee of the Ohio Republican Party contacted Sam Thurber (*involved with politician wife Maggie Thurber in Noe scandal.) wanting to inspect and have copies made of all recently returned voter registrations, Ohio Republican Party offered to furnish volunteers to assist with copying postcards. No one at the Lucas County BOE can confirm that anyone was assigned to supervise Republican volunteers. On their second day of copying, a BOE employee, Jennifer Bernath, Democratic Booth Official) saw republican party volunteers peeling off the yellow return stickers applied by the post office. (Violation of RC 149.43 (B) (I) , and agruably a violation of 149.351.

Why did John Conyers never act on this. He has the evidence.

8. History will not be as kind to these thieves as their contemporary Dems have been...
The grown-ups have left the playground and the bullies have been running the sandbox. Up until Obama sacked up and passed a weak-ass, pathetic start to HCR, those bullies had been collectively giving everyone else wedgies and wet-willies with total impunity. THIS is the time to pursue those other issues - its time to hit the bully back and break his will - the temper tantrums we are seeing now are the challenge to Obama's legitimacy...having tentatively stood up to the bully, its time to hit him the goddamn mouth, shut him up and really start trying top fix this mess...otherwise - 50-100 years from now, when people are trying to piece together exactly how the USA was destroyed from within and turned into the most dangerous failed state on the globe, they will point back to the last 30 years - the abuses of the Reagan era, the idiotic fervor of the Clinton-Lewinsky nonsense, the stolen election of 2000, the 9/11 Commission, the "war" in Afghanistan (actually invasion / partial colonization), the "war" in Iraq (actually a neo-con fantasy writ large and screwed up for all to see), the stolen election of 2004 right up to the Teabagger revolt of 2008-2010 - and people will marvel at the lack of response from the officials in power on BOTH sides of the aisle.

10. Except BushInc and WaPost control ALOT of the textbook business. History books will tell THEIR
version. The greater truth will live on ONLY at the National Security Archives. Eventually BushInc will make sure there is a fire of 'unknown origin' there....you know...the old 'lone wolf' actor.

15. Which is the iPad and other devises are so important.....
My brother works for Apple's educational division and the hope is to get these devises into the textbook industry which will greatly bring the cost of publishing down, thus allowing for texts outside the large TX system. What is important here is to get Democratic participation at the school board level, as it is a GOP goal to stack SBs with their true believers.
