What's up with that?

At a million dollars per soldier per year and $400 per gallon of delivered gas we sure are burning thru the bucks. Is anybody in DC awake?

2. If you don't know the rationale behind troops in Afghanistan, why do you have a signature line
that says "out of afghanistan now"?

Or a link to rethinkafghanistan.com?

If you do know the rationale behind the troops in Afghanistan and disagree with it, why not provide an actual OP with that information?

8. That's a good question. What I tell myself is that you can't win
if you don't show up.

16. We don't consider that one because we've been brought up to believe
that we are different from any other country in the world. And the truth is, we're just bigger, imho. :(

5. its a jobs program for the military and the corporate suppliers. the original intent has long been
abandoned. remember get al queda? our military is not happy unless it is fighting as many wars as possible at any given time. obama is just a tool in this situation.

9. Watching Tavis Smiley's "Black Agenda" conference, Dyson said
the GI bill established the American middle class. And I think he was right.

What we have going on now is the inverse. When our soldiers come home, they are treated like human waste or folded into the same treatment we all get -- take us for everything we can contribute and then, work to deny us any benefit from our contribution.

It's a different world. And I agree that the presidency has been reduced to a front for the interests that work the taxpayers. It has nothing to do with Obama himself, actually. It's just where we are right now.

10. If you are going to use the Vietnam analogy
perhaps you can tell me who is playing the role of North Vietnam or the USSR/China You have the VC and that's all. In my opinion there are too many glaring differences to make a good analogy.

11. Two reasons.
1) The all war, all the time economy.

2) Some people dig war. The white hats/black hats thing. They're even on this thread. They'll probably get us all killed before their un-evolved asses die off.

Oh well...have a nice day.

12. Where are the millions that the MIC is paying off
political leaders going?

The President isn't the one getting all the blood money, he's just trapped into doing with the MIC wants.
