"The Long War" ......RW meme |
|
At first I thought "The Long War" meme I was seeing on RW blogs and sites referred to the GWOT, but now these blogs are referring to "The Long War" as the war in Iraq. Is this wishful thinking on their parts....that if, by a long shot, they take the Presidency in '08, this war will go on forever, their permanent wet-dream, and they are trying to prepare the nation now? Watch for it.
Have I said how much I hate republics this week?

1. Its so easy to trick fuck the mindless flag waving drones |
|
About four years ago the "War" would be over in days, weeks at the most. We would be greeted as liberators, Iraq would pay for the whole endeavor. And. After that happened conservatives were screaming and shouting at evil liberals who said things could go terribly wrong. No way, we kicked ass in days, game over. You have to be an extremely unpatriotic, ignorant, arrogant, sack of shit to now promote the long war just because you are too proud to admit what you know, that you have been wrong for years. It must really suck being a conservative.
I hate them too my Dear and our hate is rational.

3. Didn't you get the Centcom memo regards: The Long War |
|
As it turned out, however, the long war turned out to be surprisingly short-lived, at least at the command that pioneered the term. After taking over last month as the head of Central Command, Admiral William Fallon quietly retired the phrase http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/04/24/news/war.php

4. thanks.....I don't usually get the memos |

from Cent Com. Wonder why the RW blogs/sites are using the term when talking about the Iraq War? I like this quote from the article you linked:
"Fallon does not appear to have come up with a catchy substitute for his predecessor's turn of phrase.
"We continue to look for other options to characterize the scope of current operations," said McLaughlin, the spokesman."

5. I'm starting to see the phrase |
|
"we won the Iraq war". on another message board. When asked about how the victory feels, I'm getting the " well, we are in an occupation mode now" "this could take some time".

6. Hey, "Insurgencies tend to go on |
|
five, six, eight, 10, 12 years," Rumsfeld stated 27 June 2005, we've still got (minimum) 5 years for the Surge to work! Let's see Americans 1000KIA, 7000WIA a year Iraqis 100000KIA a year times 5 equals :grr:
Of course, it doesn't matter how long or loud the American people cry out for us to get out.
bush decides, marines die.
