My letter to the Moonie Times:
A couple of days ago columnist John McCaslin wrote about how he got a good laugh out of a NJ State Senate resolution wishing Governor Corzine a speedy recovery. Apparently the word "speed" really set McCaslin off. I sent the following: (This was all prior to Corzine's release from the hospital.)

Dear Mr. McCaslin,
I'm pleased that you got a nice giggle out of the Jersey Senate wishing Governor Corzine a speedy recovery. Since the man is in critical condition and breathing on a respirator, I personally am able to restrain my hilarity. But while we're on the subject, several days ago I heard one of the survivors of the Virginia Tech shootings asked how he was able to bring himself to leap from a second story window. The young man replied that "It was my only shot at survival". Get it? Shot? Ain't that a fucking knee-slapper?
Sincerely,
