Those surveyed are slightly more likely to blame Democratic political maneuvers than harsh rhetoric by opponents. In the poll, 49% say Democratic tactics are "a major reason" for the incidents. Meanwhile, 46% blame harsh criticism by conservative commentators on TV and radio; 43% say criticism by Republican leaders played a major role.

1. All the more reason to stop paying attention to these stupid polls

The math is usually screwed up. Plus look at the number they polled. If it's less than 1000, it's not a valid sampling.

We used to be polled here but one day I didn't like the way I was being pushed, an either/ or when in actuality it was neither so I voiced my displeasure with that and viola all I heard was a click and we haven't been called since. Funny how that works where when I was willing to take their push poll I was an alright guy but the moment I showed any sign of individual thought I was no longer important.

I'm not sure there is any good polling companies that can be trusted

4. I got polled awhile back.

Smething like, "Do you think homosexuals should get married in West Virginia?" I said yes. It's funny how many one question polls I get asked to participate in.

5. I guess I was the one who was pretty stupid . . .

when I was screening calls and a Gallup call came in, and I didn't take it. I wish I had, because when I thought about it, I realized they might have reached a freeper or a teabagger next, and their input, instead of mine, would influence a national poll. Trust polls or not, Gallup doesn't do push polls, and I missed a chancece to represent a more liberal viewpoint than they might have gotten from someone else.

No one (out of what 5 people?) pointed out that it was more than 100%

The Washington Post guy, of course, had to sound considerate that yes everyone is a little guilty

Um even at 138% the right takes up 89% of the blame--no one dared mention that

by the logic of the "reporting", there's 103 Senators ...

49% Yes

Is harsh criticism of conservative commentators a major reason for the incidents of violent? Yes or No.

Are Republicans a major reason for the incidents of violent? Yes or No.
43% Yes

11. It's a multiple response question and you can't interpret the democratic answer without

drilling down on the others. How many of that 49% are also blaming republicans and the media. It's clear that the violence is in response to the vote so depending on how the question was worded many of us would be in that 49% that say it is a "major reason" for the violence, because common sense would require us to answer that way if we were being honest.

If they asked them to rank whose to blame then I would be worried about democrats. But the pollster knew better than to phrase it that way.
