What the "drill baby drill" crowd believes |
|
---
That the oil corporations are sympathetic to American interests. That it is "our" oil. That the amount available will make a dent in the world oil market. That this isn't another corporate welfare program. That prices at the pump will somehow lower. That opening up domestic drilling will make the USA less reliant and vulnerable to the world petroleum market.
Like Malloy says, "Hog snot".

3. Last election the drill baby |
|
screamers were also screaming about oil refineries and how we need to build more, reduce environmental laws so more can be built. Well, oil companies are now closing refineries in the U.S. due to lack of demand. Of course closing them will increase prices for us. Seems many issues die after an election.

4. and that there will be more refineraries |
|
why would anyone open more refineries to make more gas from oil if they are already making money hand over fist by keeping the supply low, and why invest that big money to make refineries when the oil is just going to run out anyway. So even if we pump more oil, it isn't going to make more gas.

the enviornmentalists have kept the poor oil companies from building more refinneries. This is a lie. The Oil companies sold off and consolidated refineries all over the country into just a few back in the 80's and 90's. They havent built any new ones because THEY dont want to for their profits. tib

7. Big Oil, Big Banks, Big Pharma, Big Health Insurance..... |
|
.. the only cure to the existing problems in our world.. must pass thru the "paradigm filters" of these huge monopolies. What was that Albert Einstein said about..."trying to find an answer to a problem using the same mind set that created it?
The solutions available to solve our problems are tightly controlled, to make sure that they are defined ONLY by the corporate parameters of: greed, profit, exploitation, cheap labor , and destruction of the middle class.
All the while these corporations enjoy complete cooperation and assistance from the U.S. CONgress/Senate/White House. If the solution being offered doesn't pass this muster... it doesn't survive (or even get mentioned on the nightly news).
Arrr.. I don't see how things can get better.. as long as everyone is forced to wear the corporate blinders.

RIDICULOUS!
They also believe there is no limit on the oil supply. Just poke more holes and you get more oil, endlessly.
