Well, I think it’s remarkable that Obama saved as much Social Security as he did!
Given that we lost our majority in Congress in the 2010 mid-terms, it was really remarkable that Obama at least stopped benefit cuts from hitting current recipients. And those “firebangers” who insisted that Obama veto any bill with Social Security cuts are no better than the teabangers who wanted to completely kill all Social Security benefits…

Wait… It’s March 2010….damn….this morning I read the 2011 talking points.

3. We're not going to lose our majority
Universal healthcare is what people wanted.

Obama delivered.

Expect our majorities go grow in November.

4. Um...no he didn't. He delivered Health Care Reform...specifically insurance reform and regulation.
Edited on Wed Mar-31-10 05:32 PM by YOY
It was needed but really doesn't take the unneeded parties out of the equation.

Universal Health Care would take a lot more work. Single Payer is worth it...but I don't think it will ever happen with Democrats doing the job that Republicans used to before Reagan, the Republicans fixing nothing, and nobody doing Democrat's job.

7. Remind me again how many Americans are still not covered by this 'Universal' health care.
Why post such obvious nonsense where people are bound to know that you're wrong?

8. By worlds standards it is Universal
Edited on Wed Mar-31-10 05:56 PM by yodoobo
Its as Universal as any of our first world peers.

But if you want to be picky, from an absolutist view, no place in the world has absolute Universal coverage.

Getting away from the linguist discussion however, Obama has delivered a plan that will allow anyone who wants coverage to obtain it. And that is what is important.

9. Really? There are some 22 million Canadians who can't get care in their country?
That's news to me.

12. Uh, private for profit insurance is not 'health care'.
Edited on Wed Mar-31-10 06:37 PM by Edweird
The 'insurers' exist solely to profit by DENYING access to care. You are tad confused.

13. What do those talking points say about why we're not withdrawing from Iraq?
Lemme guess: Obama never campaigned on being against the Iraq war... :eyes:
