George Bush **OR** Duke of Windsor ---pix--->>>
Edited on Wed May-02-07 02:29 PM by Stephanie

The Bushes on American Idol last night, simpering idiots, reminded me exactly of the Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson. No?

2. There is no parody that could be written about the chimp and pickles..
that would outdo what they've already done to themselves in just this past week. Just putting their faces up on the screen invokes snorts of disdain and derision and an eye roll. It's Pavlovian.

What a joke they are.

6. That bit on AI reminded me of this "comic moment" that the nasty couple

shared with us -- their night after the WTC and The Pentagon were attacked, after thousands died.

(snip)

President Bush: But the day ended on a relatively humorous note. The agents said, "You'll be sleeping downstairs. Washington's still a dangerous place." And I said no, I can't sleep down there, the bed didn't look comfortable. I was really tired, Laura was tired, we like our own bed. We like our own routine. You know, kind of a nester. Like the way things are. I knew I had to deal with the issue the next day and provide strength and comfort to the country, and so I needed rest in order to be mentally prepared. So I told the agent we're going upstairs, and he reluctantly said okay. Laura wears contacts, and she was sound asleep. Barney was there. And the agent comes running up and says, "We're under attack. We need you downstairs," and so there we go. I'm in my running shorts and my T-shirt, and I'm barefooted. Got the dog in one hand, Laura had a cat, I'm holding Laura --

Mrs. Bush: I don't have my contacts in, and I'm in my fuzzy house slippers --

President Bush: And this guy's out of breath, and we're heading straight down to the basement because there's an incoming unidentified airplane, which is coming toward the White House. Then the guy says it's a friendly airplane. And we hustle all the way back upstairs and go to bed.

Mrs. Bush: And we just lay there thinking about the way we must have looked.

Noonan: So the day starts in tragedy and ends in Marx Brothers.

President Bush: That's right -- we got a laugh out of it.

There is nothing innocent or special or loving about that couple. They are just evil. I cried myself to sleep that night, as I imagine most of the nation did.

They laughed and made it hard on their security to protect them.

:puke:

8. Yes, we in NYC were laughing our heads off that night.
I remember how hard I laughed as I waited outside St. Vincent's Hospital for the survivors to brought from the WTC. All the doctors stood outside with their stretchers, all the neighbors stood outside, desperately hoping for survivors. None came. Oh, we got a good laugh out of that all right. Hah.

9. And those two souless creatures not only laughed and made
light of the evening, they proudly told Peggy Noonan about their humor fest, published it for the world to read. They don't see anything disturbing about their "truth".

It is just too much to take in sometimes, the laughter and the fun they have while the citizens of this nation are suffering and dying.

God forgive me for how I feel about them.

Hugs for you

12. Steph, wasn't there a recent movie about an Idol- type show
and a dolt of a president appearing on it in desperate attempt to beef up dismal approval ratings?

So hard to come up with novel plots in such strange times, or life imitating art?

Getting to look like Rove's got nuttin'

P.S. I'm already homesick
