I'm trying to think of something that is more universal than the hatred of Fred Phelps and the WBC. Seriously, drawing a blank here.

1. my question is, can we get any local DUers to protest at their church?
you know, with signs like "god hates fred phelps"

I don't even know if they have an actual physical church structure anywhere, but I do believe they should they should be constantly (legally) surrounded and protested against, everywhere they go.
That's the only way I see this stopping.

2. Better yet, if ANY of their church members have a funeral,
I think we should converge on the service, at about 100,000 strong.

4. heh... oh yeah..
I was thinking about that the day when I was out running (I was running through a debate with myself about free speech) Wondering how they would react if people protested them and their funerals like they do.

6. Been there. Done that. Not going back.
Yes, they still have a church. There is a house next to it, so it's like a mini compound.

I feel sorry for their neighbors.

There is this annual event though: Million Fag March

7. Screw protest, hold a fundraiser, make it an anti phelps-a-thon

the longer they stand their protests the more money you raise for causes that would make his head explode.

3. I dunno...
Fred Phelps could be the great uniter...

Imagine the 2012 presidential debate - Obama vs Palin/Romney/Whoever

"And in conclusion, I'd like to say, fuck you Fred Phelps"

"I'd like to agree with my distinguished opponent and believe we can for a working partership based on the our united hatred of WBC"

Good Night America!

he and his idiots didn't cause so much pain.

8. And what REALLY hurts ...
... (Other than being beaten by Poppa Fred with his mattock handle, his preferred way of "disciplining" his kids) ...

... is that Phelps is a Democrat.

Used to be pretty active in the party and in Civil Rights, too. Then he went completely bugfuck and the rest is history.

10. Googled Katherine Rose Phelps-Griffin, Fred's daughter,
and Nate Phelps' sister. (He left the family at age 18 and vehemently speaks out against the WBC. But she has taken right after dear, disgusting daddy.) I found a September, last, post from her where she was begging for financial help for her 20-year old autistic son, David. Something about that seems ironic.
