2. Uh, a large black coffee, please. To go.
My standard order at the Starbucks counter. The response varies from store to store.

10. After they babble their silly names, I point and say - "THAT FUCKING CUP RIGHT THERE!"
I have rarely been inside one and only if it was the only place around to get coffee. Too fucking expensive anyway and the coffee sucks. McD's is much cheaper and has way better coffee.

4. I see Charbucks is well into the April Fools spirit
Seriesly, Charbucks sizes really do suck, though. Even though a standard size of American coffee has been 5.5 oz for decades, the smallest size you can get is 8oz, and that's if you insist on it because if you order a "small" coffee, you get a 12oz cup. A 20oz drink is a friggin abomination. It's little more than a cup of hot milk with almost no discernible coffee flavor. If that isn't bad enough, many people order it with flavored syrup. It makes me wonder how many people could actually tell in a blind taste test if they left the coffee out completely.

7. Whew. What a relief!
I consumed a lot of Mountain Dew when I lived in the US, but a gallon of Starbuck's coffee would have killed me.

12. A wee bit cranky, today, are we? LOL
I like good coffee black and I like unsweetened lattes made with premium espresso (which I make at home). Can not people enjoy both?

But, yes, I don't get all the whipped cream covered syrupy goo drinks that some people actually maintain to be coffee. ;)

13. I haven't had my 128oz coffee yet
I enjoy espresso, an occasional 6oz cappa in the morning, and American style coffee. I make all of them at home. I also like Turkish coffee and lots of other preparation methods. I just don't understand why coffee has gone the way of the convenience store mega soda that's bigger than most people's bladder, but that's not to say I hold any grudge against what someone else does. If it feels good, do it.

5. Who the heck drinks a gallon of coffee at a time?
If my math is right, 128 US fluid ounces amounts to 1 US gallon or about 3.8 liters. If I drank that much coffee--even spread out across a full day--I'd be shaking like I dunno what. :yoiks:

6. that reminds me
I need to make sure to lock my computer every time I leave my desk today. Last year some clever prankster took a screen shot of my desktop, used that picture for my wallpaper, and hid all my icons. Oddly enough we had just upgraded our systems so I assumed it was a Microsoft glitch and fixed it. I didn't realize I had been punked until someone told me. duoh

8. That's a classic
I like to go into your MS-Word or other word processor and reprogram macros so that when ever you type the word "the"
Word autochanges it to "NeedleCast is my Hero."

Good times!

11. In other news, you can also get the super-large-size cup filled with your choice of
Regular or Extra Crispy Kentucky Fried Coffee.
