The "UPS Delivery Problem" Virus is Back
And what a CLEVER little virus it is! It doesn't contain your name, any UPS graphics, or any information on the package, but gee it's got this neat little ZIP file attached! I've got a Mac I don't use for anything sitting here, so I copied the ZIP file to it and opened it. In there is an .exe (which is the malware) and another .zip file.

I did this so you don't have to.

1. Always look at the header info

it's a dead giveaway that it's bogus. I'll save the next one I get and post it here so you can see what I mean.

2. received one of these a few months ago
took the same steps -- and was spared. There are similar for many places. Tmobile, etc. Always, as was suggested, make sure the email you receive is legit before you go and open attachments.

3. I am fully aware of this virus but I was impressed with their timing the other day

I was stressing because a UPS package hadn't yet been delivered and it was already 7pm. Around that time I get one of these virus emails saying my package couldn't be delivered. Obviously I would never open these, I can spot them from a mile away; but if someone that isn't very good with computers had been in the same position they probably would have loaded it.
