Part 4....Why Geithner Must Go....

WASHINGTON – Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Thursday it's "deeply unfair" that some financial institutions that got taxpayer-paid bailouts are emerging in better shape from the recession than millions of ordinary Americans.

But in a nationally broadcast interview, Geithner also argued that President Barack Obama had no choice when confronted with a financial crisis.

"As the president has said, we had to do some very unpopular things," Geithner said. "People looked at what had happened."

"It's not fair. It's deeply unfair," he said. "He (Obama) had to decide whether he was going to act to fix it or stand back ... and that would have been calamitous for the American economy."

Geithner Advised the President... Geithner was taking care of his buddies on Wall Street....Banks are still not issuing lines of credit to small businesses and consumers as mandated

1. For the Record. Geitner has never worked on Wall Street. He
has spent his entire work life post college in Public Service.

Rachel Maddow did a program on Geithner and it was rather
enlightening.

Some of us believe that by stabalizing the financial system
this made it less painful for Mainstreet than it could have
been.

No bailout and the collapse would have been much harder including
more and more lost jobs. TOOMEY, the GOP candidate, Pa, was on
Morning Joe. He was against the Bailout and said he would have
permitted the Banks, Aig, etc to fail. He was honest enough
to admit that there would have been a much harder fall. Philosophically,
he believes this would be better in the long run.
