And before I get the "right wing cartoonists" nonsense, most of these are from reliably progressive cartoonists, like Auth, Rogers and Bennett.
Lots of folks are pissed about this. One thing I didn't see was any RW cartoonists having a problem with offshore drilling...

3. I disagree with the decision, but it isn't a broken campaign promise.

I also think it's a little hyperbolic to say it's the exact same position as Palin's. Palin (and Republicans) want to drill everywhere. Obama has said no drilling in Alaska and in the Pacific. There are some things that I don't believe have a "middle' position (this being one of them), but that is the position taken here. It is not identical to the conservative position which is to open all areas to offshore drilling.
