Unions.

When noone else gave FUCK about the serf class, the little people, the worker.

Unions gave a fuck and still do to this day.

Imagine that, people giving a fuck about other people and trying to fight the good fight.
Even if it was a losing battle, they fought.

How many others can make that claim?

2. That's another battle that needs to be fought. All part of what should be..
comprehensive "Free" Trade reform. If we only had a party with the guts to address the ever growing need to reform our disastrous trade policies. NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO.

7. Support Stupak's bill to repeal NAFTA (H.R. 4759).
"U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Menominee, whose sprawling district includes part of Bay County, has joined with two Democrats and a Republican to overturn the controversial pact that eliminated tariffs between the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Because of the deep national recession, Stupak sees an opportunity to strike now, although he admits the bill faces an uphill fight.

“Tell me somewhere NAFTA created a job,” he said. “You’re not going to find very many. Tell me where people have lost jobs because of NAFTA, and you’ll find thousands of them.”"

http://www.tradereform.org/content/view/2437/33/

"“I opposed NAFTA in 1993 because it was not in the best interest of Michigan workers,” Stupak said. “I remain opposed to NAFTA because it continues to hurt the U.S. economy and put Americans out of work. I am pleased to join my colleagues to propose a repeal of this failed trade policy. NAFTA has failed to deliver the benefits that were promised and has cost Michigan hundreds of thousands of good manufacturing jobs.”

According to the Economic Policy Institute, 78 percent of the net job losses under NAFTA were high-paying manufacturing jobs. Since 1993, when NAFTA was passed, nearly 5 million manufacturing jobs have been lost. This is in stark contrast to the inaccurate predictions economists made claiming that the United States would run a trade surplus with Mexico of $7 billion to $9 billion within two years and see a net creation of 170,000 jobs in the U.S. economy."
