ACORN to continue as a National Organization
Not fond of the right-wing slant "objective overview" in the rest of this article but the first three paragraphs are welcome news:

After months of budget problems and criticism from the right, the community organizing group Acorn plans to release a letter next week clarifying its path forward and stating that its local chapters may be closed, but the national organization is alive and well.

“You will continue to hear from Acorn — in the mail, on the Web, and in the media,” says the letter, a draft of which was provided to The New York Times. “And we need your continued support to counter the vicious antifamily, antiminority, anti-immigrant attacks of the Republican right.”

The letter, which says the organization will continue working for health care reform, immigration reform and affordable housing, comes after Acorn announced last month its plans to close all of its local chapters and field operations by April 1...

2. That is great news!
I hope their lawsuit against Breitbart, Giles and O'Keefe is going forward also. The discovery phase of that lawsuit should produce some interesting information, such as who is behind these cowardly thugs eg. Morton Blackwell and his organization for one, although he has tried to distance himself now from the bumbling O'Keefe.

I hope pressure is put on the media to cover the truth about this story, and on Congress to issue an apology for violation of ACORN's Constitutional rights. There is a lot that needs to done to undo the harm because so many poor people rely on this organization for one thing, and because it should shut down the dirty tricksters for a while.

3. I'd heard they'd strategically retreated to their NY and LA offices

Glad to finally have it confirmed, especially in view of Rachel Maddow's special comment tonight.

If Blackwater, Phillip Morris and Sarah Palin can re-rebrand, so can they.

4. Yay!
I've been avoiding posts that come from this particular publication out of support for the Bradblog, but I'll make an exception.

The only thing that would make me happier is to see this primary participant in the hatchet job that was done on ACORN, apologize on the front page, above the fold in 4" copy. They do a disservice to their own long standing rep by failing to do the job in a manner in keeping with how they earned. Lazy lap dog ring kissers!

5. Fucking good. We should fund them at the grass roots level and reboot them
We also should be raising ten different kinds of hell with Democrats to get them funding.

We don't want the Rethugs to think they could completely break an organization through nothing but lies...
