My daughter's homework for tonight.
Edited on Wed May-02-07 06:34 PM by chimpsrsmarter
5 questions

1) why are we at war
2) who is the enemy
3) what is the goal
4) when will it end
5) where is the fighting

this is from her history teacher and it's based on the child's knowledge and opinion. I thought this was an interesting assignment.

edited because i'm a moran.

22. Some answers -
(1) War profits from privatizing (for Bush family friends/corps) wrapped around long term oil profits (for Bush family friends/corps).
(2) Bush family friends
(3) We (Americans/American military) have no set mission but we are serving to meet the goals of the Bush family friends
(4) When the Bush family friends have extracted all the profits they can
(5) Don't know - one can't figure out unless you are a Bush family friend and inside their bubble

23. Teacher bias?
Let's hope that the teacher let's this become a discussion for students instead of a way for them to vent their own political beliefs.

25. Sounds Like Your Daughter Has A Very Good Teacher
Kudos to any teacher who encourages kids to use critical thinking and reasoning...especially at that age. Hopefully your daughter does well in her assignment.

26. Right or left wing, I don't care
I'm not interesting in which side the teacher takes. I'd rather not see a side at all. When talking with people I agree with I'll take devil's advocate just to have some kind of counter point. I hope that kids get that same type of treatment when they're learning. Ultimately that helps make our own opinions more solid.

30. I wish that all teachers followed the guidelines.
I didn't mean any offense, I just know that plenty of teachers push agendas. Whether they are aware of it or not is another matter.

I guess I'm extra sensitive on this issue because I'm tired of Republicans whining about how liberally biased everything is. I want to remove their excuses.
